Lucy is a good visual novel, but I wouldn't say it's one of the best. The story itself is solid, and there's a few great moments throughout. The characters are generally well-written (the main character was perfectly fine, I didn't see him as too unlikable or anything), and the pacing is good. However, there's one thing dragging it down, which is that it feels like getting the story's message across was top priority, to the point it ended up feeling distracting and taking me out of the experience. I feel like it'd be a bit harsh to say this VN is preachy in this way, but I don't know how else to describe it, really. I actually found the themes of distinguishing robots from humans interesting, I just feel more subtlety and natural inner dialogue would've helped a lot in making the themes and message more resonant, instead of having a very obvious line between realistic character interactions and "this is the philosophical subject I would like for the reader to ponder over". The technicals of the game are a bit clunky, too. Every major scene transition has this pseudo loading screen that displays the Three Laws of Robotics, I'm not really sure what the point of this is, because the story already has scene transitions immediately after these screens saying whenever it's a different day or perspective. Also, I unlocked an extra scenario or something after finishing the game... but I couldn't tell you what exactly it was, because I went back to load a different choice to see if I'd get a different ending. Upon the ending being the same as far as I could tell, I exited the game when I realized the credits were unskippable, and when I reloaded the game, the extra thing was gone. Please make credits skippable in your games, especially if you've already seen them. Or at least have a more competent save system in place so these things don't get lost.

If robots were made to have feelings, how do we draw the line between human and robots? Just our appearance? What is inside? Our memories? Humans might keep telling themselves they are just robots, but what would the robots themselves think? It is real for them, is it really just fine to see them as tincans that follow our orders and made to do work? Humans can be very well terrified that robots/androids can become close ro resembling humans, so it will be natural that we tell themselves they are just machines. While following our protagonist and the android he found, Lucy, we have many of those types of questions get brought up. The protagonist who doesnt like androids and never had experience with one. And Lucy whom is a android model that shares a lot of similarities with humans... Very good and extremely short VN too, I recommend thinking and even talk about the questions that arise with others! Especially with our technology itself improving.

It's an endearing and emotional visual novel about a boy who finds an abandoned android, seemingly left for scrap in a junkyard, and discovers there is far more to her than a simple robot. Story is emotional so be ready for some tears. The production quality, music, and design is OK for a small scale visual novel. But that's pretty much it, I found the story pretty predictable and boring but that's just for me, there's no telling if you would like it. So go ahead and try it out! I will give it 6,5 out of 10.

"Lucy - The Eternity She Wished For" is a great Science Fiction Visual Novel that takes us to a near future, where the humans have created robots for their own benefit and comfort. Just for setting the example, is very similar to what happens in "Detroit Become Human". By the way I do not mean anything negative by that, I was just making an example so it would be easier to understand :) The lenght of this Visual Novel is indeed kinda short but don't worry, this is about quality and not quantity. Less than 11 hours (at least in my experience on this game) are necesary to understand deeply the characters's psychology and ways of thinking and feeling of each and every one of them. During this time we'll see an incredible and fast development of these ones (mostly in the main character). We will empathize quickly with most of them for sure. I don't know if I'm being clear with this but I think that it is truly amazing how they've putted so much effort and care into those things I talked about in the past paragraph. It is unbelievable how it turned out as well. During those 11 hours we'll laugh and cry along with the characters and feel the same as they do. Another great feature of the game to point out too. With all of those remarkable sides of the game being said, now is time to talk about the soundtrack of this Visual Novel. Another astonishing part of the game. The songs complement so well the emotional parts of this VN. I found a few of them very similar to the most famous "Clannad" songs wich made everything ten times sadder. Again, I have to mention that I don't mean anything bad about that comparison. I don't want to talk much about the plot of the VN because you can figure out what it will be about by the title. I'm just going to say that it is kinda sad, just like the rest of the Visual Novels I've played. I seem to like that kind of Visual Novels. We arrived at the end of this review, so I must finish it by saying that I deeply recommend this Visual Novel. It is not one of my favourites of all time, but it's still a pretty good one. If you'd like the VN called "Planetarian -The Reverie Of A Little Planet-" from "Visual Arts / Key" you would absolutely love this one, since they're kinda similar.
