An amazing metroidvania from start to finish. Memorable characters, beautiful pixel art, and highly detailed character animations. Combat is fun and player progression is well-paced given the wide assortment of weapons, spells, and gear. Even has multiple endings and unlockable extended play modes. For those complaining that checkpoints don't restore health and mana, this is easily remedied by curative items, HP drops, and shields and purifier gear that heals on block or while in water. Transition to full mana offensive in late game is super fun and over-powered :D Highly recommended!

Not too difficult of a metroidvania, but enough difficulty to require pattern learning and being patient. Story isn't anything to write home about, but fun enough to keep you going. Beautiful sprite work, minimal backtracking, and very fair boss fights make this a pretty solid metroidvania experience. Combat is on the clunky side, but not difficult to adjust to. The clunky movement and attacks force you to be deliberate and accurate. You have to know your weapon's ranges and gauge when it is appropriate to attack or dodge.

it's a fun game. rather old school style game play so i am used to it. the graphics are MIND BLOWING! the SQUISHY FACES OF THE CHARACTERS IS REALLY REALLY CUTE! i just want to pinch the protaganist's face! <3 i'll admit there is small roughness but the game is amazing! it is short and squishy! would recommend! <3

This game is as good as I heard. The recent negative reviews make little sense, I'm playing this on a thinkpad and have had zero crashes. This game isn't particularly hard, you just have to time things like you would with any metroidvania game. Pick what you like, and figure out attack distances and you'll do well. This game is supposed to be played multiple times through, without spoilers, it's how it works. Beyond the recent bad reviews... The game is a bit clunky, but you get used to it after a little bit. Once you get some new weapons and artifacts you can pick and choose different items to suit your play style.

Great sprites and character designs. The combat gameplay starts off feeling rough until you realize that it's not a "git gud" style combat game. It's a puzzle game where you find the right equipment/weapon/spells to make bosses and enemies significantly easier. There will be trial and error, but once you find the right combo for a specific boss or area, it feels great. By the end of the game you can make ridiculously OP builds that auto regen your health and/or mana, do tons of damage, and cheese all encounters. It's awesome.
