Do you know what? this is refreshingly old school. Right up my street. Reminds me of final fantasy/eye of the beholder/magic candle vibes. Never heard of it till a friend bought it recently. Only a hour in but know i will do many more. Fills a gap in gaming that has disappeared. Music suits the areas. Oh and yes the game works fine. Noticed a few posts people saying wont load but i have had no problems. PC Windows 11 here.

Due to my life being more complicated these days, it is very rare when I play a game through to the end and equally infrequent I actually create a review.. I would highly recommend this as a great casual game with lots of content and a pretty decent story. The ToG version is also highly recommended, its a pretty big boost since you collect power during various events (which I always converted to attributes) and not just when you find an orb. Another rarity, I do expect to play this through a second time in a few years; its a great game IMO. IMPORTANT NOTE: This was played on ZorinOS and it works, but you should F5 save often because you may find yourself restarting it 3 or 4 times during a day of playing it. Trust me, the vast majority of the time you'll see performance indicators letting you know a problem is coming. Guessing the Linux version has a memory leak or something along those lines.

Very well done game. Characters are different. Strategies are vast. Difficulty is hard. Would def buy a 2nd and 3rd of this. Just improve here and there like maybe some sort of base building and you have a series as good as anything else out there.

Really fantastic game. Highly recommended. About a close as you can get to a modern take on the original Ultima games, while also having a very distinct identity of its own. Very nice art style, excellent music score. The enemy animations in combat are extremely well done. Expect a lot of hours in this one, its a very long game. If you enjoy the classic style of RPG from the 80's and early 90's you will be very entertained.

The game did not feel like much the first time I installed it. But the game plays like an old school RPG but isometric, hard fights and puzzles rather then role playing. It is harder at first and the story is nice enough. I've enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would. The world building is well done. Character builds are a thing and I just love the puzzles and having to take notes, I wish newer RPGs had the need for some pen and paper. This is not a deep character development type CRPG like BG2 or even POE but the gameplay it's surprisingly entertaining and makes up for that. As I said before, it just feels like an old school RPG like Bards Tale or Might and Magic games. For the bad things: Early stats choices matter and you don't know what to do without a guide - easy to overcome by reading a guide. Difficulty is great early to mid game but it becomes very easy late game. Final battle was incredibly easy. Stun + Speed is incredibly OP and makes everything else meh. Why would you stack resistances if the enemy will never hit you. This should be changed in my opinion. Would not be hard to fix by making bosses immune to stun. There is no choice/ multiple ways to do a quest, you do the quests by fighting and move on and that is it. The bad guys never move against you in anyway creating a static world. This is minor but I would have liked some unique weapons, you have item levels/ materials and the enchantments are all from a pre-defined list. Overall the bad things are minor and the game is very good for the price.
