I like the market aspect of this game. You can really micromanage if you want to or let everyone figure it out themselves (and the market has worked well in my play throughs at least). I got into this game maybe a year ago, and coming back now many of the bugs I was dealing with before have been addressed, so that's nice. There is a lot of content and the information screens are much improved (love the graph view for resource demand/supply), but it does generally feel a bit unpolished. I hope it'll continue to improve. Updates seem to be rolling out at a slow and steady pace.

it's one of those game i feel neither positive or negative about. i respect it but i have a really hard time with it - very complex and too much micromanagement. almost too much so.

Fun little game that is easy to get sucked into. Not super crunchy or difficult, but requires more planning than a chill zone-out game. Worth the price for sure!

This game is a crucial turning point in the up-and-coming generation's city and town simulators. Ever since Banished introduced the concept of varying commodities as part of the inhabitants' "survival" and "quality of life", this game has added the next step of "administrating through private property", where the a ruler-player is given an additional fog-of-war that is each family's private property and ownership. Maintaining the wealth and purchasing power of the people becomes an equally important subject as your own, and is not simply mediated in a numerical figure of minimal consequence like the slush fund account of the Tropico franchise. In this medieval world where one's food and clothes are all the result of layers of labor, resources are understood in a much more sophisticated way between goods and labor. I hope that this model will inspire future games in the genre to develop in a similar direction.

Pros: * Really interesting economy model. * Lots of production chains that don't overwhelm the player because they're managed automatically. * Blueprinting feature to save you from setting up repetitive houses. * A pretty long campaign mode which does decent job in teaching mechanics of the game. * Seems to still be developed quite actively. Cons: * Crashed couple times. * Serious bugs (like campaign objectives not being loaded when you load a game). * Some balance issues making certain professions almost always bankrupt. * Could use some more graphs, tables & other tools to help diagnose production issues. * Could use some QoL features (automatically speedup night and others).
