Loved it! It's a small vignette of a game, four hours in total, and it has a very cool premise of the story: you have a definitely unreliable narrator spinning a fairy tale during an interrogation. You never learn what actually happened, but you play the fantasy as it unfolds. I've never seen this point of view in games, and here, I think, it's done very well, the story indeed touches on the tropes you would expect this guy to bring up. The graphics are obviously inexpensive but the artistic style is a perfect match for the game. Unfortunately, I have to kick off a couple of points for clunky platforming (at one point, I spent about ten attempts to press a lever in time, not because it was hard to reach but because the guy had to be positioned just right for the lever pushing button to register, and you didn't have time to try several times) and bugs (one of the levels just completely broke for me, automatically killing me right after respawn, but fortunately restarting the game fixed it). But I still enjoyed this little story very much, and this is exactly the kind of game I'd love to see more of!

Little Orpheus is a side scrolling story driven story. The game has a great narrative with beautiful backdrops but little game play and puzzles so I can seen how most find it boring or anti-climatic. I personally enjoyed it but i would urge you to get it at a discounted price.

A word of advice before you purchase. This is NOT a sidescrolling action platformer. The only real action you may find will only wait for you at the end of episode 9. If you want to purchase the game with the intention of playing something like Rayman or Ori - this game will not be the right choice for you. What it IS instead, is a walking simulator put in a side scroller platmormer shell. The game is very story-oriented and expects you to pay more attention to the dialogue and imagery than the gameplay. To be fair, the game's visuals, soundtrack, and story are its main strong points and I think that the developers did a great job when it comes to that. The game is also bug-free for the most part. The only bug I ever encountered was during ep. 8 when you reach the weights that move up and down. The main character could respawn in the wrong place after death or sometimes even die randomly when approaching them from a safe spot, but it was easily fixed with me just restarting the game (the checkpoint was set right before that area so I didn't even lose progress). Overall I think this was a pretty good game and it is definitely a novelty when it comes to the casual walking simulator genre. And as long as you treat the game like that and don't expect it to be something that it is not, I think you will also have a good time playing it over a couple of evenings.

An incredibly charming and visually striking tale with a slick presentation style. While simplistic in terms of game-play, the story makes you want to stick around.
