The ONLY reason this is not already my favorite game is that the days feel punishingly short, you have only a few minutes to get absolutely everything done in a game that otherwise feels perfectly cozy and go at your own pace. Please, I'm begging the devs to make the days longer, that's all this game needs to be just about perfect<3 *Edit a game update later and having played through most of it at least, still think it needs more time, but more so something like pause while in menus and/or reading, the recent addition to the day length is at least responsive to the community but a fifth longer day is barely even noticeable. My real gripe now, however, is with the critters. I was SO excited to be able to raise from an egg all the different animals you can feed at nests, but the two that I absolutely love are the only two out of ALL interactable animals you can't raise from an egg. And I kind of hate the design of the Mox, the eyes look like they should be nostrils, that's just a silly personal complaint but still. This game is already a very enjoyable experience to play, it's just doubly frustrating that the things it's missing are barely just out of reach.

I saw someone describe this game as if Stardew, Mechwarrior and Astroneer had a baby. They aren’t wrong, that’s a great assessment (despite being too many parents). It combines the farming aspect of Stardew, with the exploration and base building of Astroneer, and the traversal of a Mech based game. You can customize and colorise your mech, albeit at time of review there is only one chassis shape (not sure of the tech term) for the mech. The mech is a nice touch, and gives you a whole new level of perspective. For example, there are native birds that are taller than the player character, but the mech towers over them by a significant amount. I did feel that the inventory system was a little punishing, as I was overburdened a lot early, thou I will accept that may have been due to how I play more than a fault on the games part. I highly recommend this game, tempting to try and talk my son into playing it with me.

I know it might not matter but this will help steam deck owners. I can confirm this game works as if being played on console. The play is smooth and fluent on the steam deck with no issues I can see after twenty hours of game play on single player. However, I have not had the oportunity to see how the game functions in multiplayer on the deck when it comes to communicating with other players, but most of us use Discord voice chat. The game itself is relaxing but you might have to use google if you have no idea what to do next. The mech aspect of the game makes it different and unique compared to other farming sims. I love the fact you ca upgrade and paint your mech as you play. I recommend this game to anyone who loves farming sims.

I have a lot to say about this game but I don't wanna crowd a lot of this review with many paragraphs so let me just keep it all short and simple. Is the game well designed? Yes Does it have great graphics and sound design? Yes Is it at an appropriate price? Yes Is it a relaxing game with no stress or strain? Yes Is it boring? Yes. So I guess I"m giving it a thumbs up because most of it is done well. The gameplay is incredibly boring. the entire function of this game is to go to a poluted segment of land. A beach, a forest, some cliffs whatever. And clean it up. Why? Because after you clean it up and feed the animals new resources spawn that you can use to upgrade your base and your mech. That's the entire gameplay component. Sure it has farming and building but it's clear that the main objective of this gameplay is for you to save the planet one forest at a time using your super cleaning mech suit! I didn't really care for this gameplay idea too much. It took me an hour to revive one forest all for one new resources and the entire journey to doing so was just kinda boring to me. And knowing it's just gonna be this over and over again didn't exactly help matters. Is it relaxing and simple with no stress? Sure. But it's also kinda boring. Music was aweome though. Is it worth it's asking price? For all that's there, yeah just......be mindful of what you're getting yourself into. if you'd like a more in-depth look at the game with more information please check out the video on my YouTube Channel (link below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21B4HJAMe1k Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.
