Interesting narrative I cant say I liked or not my pure thoughts are natural overall. As I understand we are listening to an man who escaped or was out from war and slowly drifting to madness caused by living in a lighthouse with nothing but himself. I really loved the part where our main character said Light house doesn't care killing those ships it I'm not ready for this kind of a task as morally but The Light house is bigger than me. Other than this parts narrative has a tint of poetic story telling this might feel boring for people who are not familiar with similar games. Voice acting was not the best or maybe it was intentional the distortion in voice and pronunciations made me feel uncomfortable time to time. Maybe it adds to the games atmosphere I don't know. I would say its an ok game please buy and support the developer so we can see better and bigger works like this on the future.

Alright. Lighthouse Keeper is done and dusted. It took me 14 minutes to playthrough it twice, which you will need to do to 100% the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3357511993 Is this 1-bit graphics? Certainly looks that way to me. And that is cool. The contrast provided by the simple white images against a black backdrop or white images with black shading against a black backdrop or black images against a white backdrop are pretty evocative despite their simplicity. You have the option of English or Russian. I chose English, being as how I don't read or speak Russian. I enjoyed the voice acting. It's imprecise and emphasizes certain vowels and phrasing incorrectly, but it also is cool to hear it that way. English from a non-native English speaker's perspective, and with good effort in doing so. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3357511974 The game is basically the diary of an old Lighthouse Keeper musing about his responsibilities while maintaining said Lighthouse. However, after 25 years alone with only the Lighthouse as his companion, he has become afraid of human contact and avoids it at all costs. Even if that means turning off the lights when ships get close. The lesson I learned here is that both he and the Lighthouse are a-holes, lol. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3357511940 There are two endings. The good ending is really the morally bad ending whereas the bad ending is what really needed to happen. Which is funny in a sardonic way. Gameplay is simply visual novel style with two point and click puzzles added. And that is exactly the game. Yet another game that I would call horror adjacent. And really, I enjoyed it. The game is currently 79 cents during this Steam Halloween sale (at the time of this writing), although I want to say I paid less when I bought it a while back. But even the retail of 99 cents is fine if you are into short experimental experiences. I feel it is worth a look. Liked this little experiment but the English voice over could have been much better let say with someone who spoke like an old Lighthouse keeper HAAAARK

A hesitant recommend for very specific people. If you like movies like Brand Upon the Brain, The Lighthouse, or really anything experimental or avant garde, then yea grab this and go through it. However, it's roughly 15m of content and not exactly groundbreaking material, albeit a little dark. I got this in the Missing Calm bundle with a handful of games and figured I'd check it out. The English voice over is rough, you can tell it's done by someone who's second language is English, but that is by no means a bad thing. In fact, it adds to the dark atmosphere and adds more depth to "this person has been tending a lighthouse away from other humans for a long time."

A really tiny, experimental, visual novel on loneliness and routine. Interesting and well written, good visuals and eerie atmosphere. Only 15 min or so but for $1 it's worth the experience if you like the themes.
