Best real world physics compared to an actual FPV Drone. Feels like I am actually flying my fpv's. This would be the best option for learning on a simulator FIRST, as it is almost exactly the same as real flying.

Having been a complete beginner 2 times, first one transitioning successfully to a real 5" and second one these days after almost 7-8 years of not touching anything, i can confidently say that learning in the OG Lift-Off is the best way to get your FPV up to a pretty decent level. Sure there are other sims around on steam, but these are going to be harder to learn on as a first timer. After your first free flights go straight to race with gates at straw bale, and stay there until you are decent at throttle management and turns. IT'S GOING TO BE A STRUGGLE at first , but the benefits are absolutely worth it. Obstacles are pretty forgiving, in the sense that your drone will pretty much go through foliage and all the LIGHT crap around you without too much hassle, and the bounces on solid objects are pretty much always recoverable when you start developing skill; and this is is another benefit that gives you much more sticks time, instead than leaving you miserable swearing on the ground or under some foliage shit that is hard as bricks. Bind reset on your REAL RADIO, i wholeheartedly suggest to avoid gamepads like the plague, then bind turtle mode and go to practice. Never tried Velocidrone, as some people tend to have very good opinions about it, but here on the convenience of steam and steam remote play, when it comes to LEARNING, OG-LiftOff is KING in my opinion. Then yes, when you get to a decent level, get also LiftOff Micro Drones and Uncrashed. Amazing sims with different traits that in my opinion are more suited to already decent pilots. EDIT 08/01/25 Bought Velocidrone and honestly i wish i dind't for that price, just get this and Liftoff Microdrones. Micros and Woops , physics-wise, feel much more like the real ones in Liftoff Micro Drones than in Velocidrone. I would say LO Micro Drones flies almost 1:1 specially in 65 class. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432320/Liftoff_Micro_Drones/ 5" quads are certainly very good in VD, but honestly that software looks super old and it's not fun to fly. Lift-off is just a better and funnier package all around, and these guys are not even on Steam. Just Get the Lift-off series and Uncrashed and you are fine TBH.

This game was so fun that it made me want to built my own IRL FPV drone. I abandonned the project when i saw how much it was and how much dedication you need to have to own a real-life drone like those shown in the game. I looked at videos about drones, and now i feel like i know everything about drones even tho i don't own one. This game is so great that it developed a passion in my life. 10/10, would buy a drone.

This isn't a 'Game', it's more of a training simulator. You 'Will" need a real radio (RC Controller) to fly. Trying to use a game controller will make you pull your hair out and quit using the SIM. Now, if you are willing to get something like a Radiomaster Boxer Crush, you'll be ready for flying against other people, or flying a real FPV. If you can fly a Line of Site drone (DJI) and thats it, You can't fly an FPV until you practice on something like this. This SIM is super realistic. two thumbs up, 10/10 etc.

crashing a drone irl costs atleast 10-15 copies of the sim. crashing a drone in the sim is free. physics is obviously different to the real thing, but you can't beat the sim in terms of painless muscle memory learning.
