This isn't a 'Game', it's more of a training simulator. You 'Will" need a real radio (RC Controller) to fly. Trying to use a game controller will make you pull your hair out and quit using the SIM. Now, if you are willing to get something like a Radiomaster Boxer Crush, you'll be ready for flying against other people, or flying a real FPV. If you can fly a Line of Site drone (DJI) and thats it, You can't fly an FPV until you practice on something like this. This SIM is super realistic. two thumbs up, 10/10 etc.

My skill level: Newb with under 100hrs flying in several sims and real life. It's an excellent FPV sim, very good training module. I love turning "god mode" off and letting the drone get damage. It really teaches you to be careful. The UI is clean and simple. The game runs on my mini desktop computer built with mostly mobile/laptop guts. Not a great computer, but Liftoff runs fine and is quite enjoyable. Highly recommended sim. Only downside is not enough maps. A big DLC pack with a bunch of maps would be an excellent move.

crashing a drone irl costs atleast 10-15 copies of the sim. crashing a drone in the sim is free. physics is obviously different to the real thing, but you can't beat the sim in terms of painless muscle memory learning.

took 2 hours to not crash the drone every 10 sec, took 7 hours to beat Computer rivals on easy map. Don't give up!

Feb. 2024

Switched to LO after 10+ hours in Uncrushed. LO is more advanced and controls are so much better. More settings options, more display options, and tracks and maps are a lot more various. After 10+ hours in LO I went to fly an actual drone. And how happy was when I found that this simulator is incredibly close to real life.
