this game unironically teaches the value of middle management. let's face it: as headmaster, i simply do not have the capacity to oversee 12 bathrooms. instead, i apply my towering authority and soaring intellect to the solemn role of building fun little rooms for the stray cats that keep showing up. main complaint is that there's no "please do not ask me again" option for the "do you want to adopt this cat?" dialog. yes, i do, every time, forever.

Let's School is such a well thought out game. I'm so obsessed with it. I literally sat here for 8+ hours. This is the kind of game I've been looking for for a long while! The game has many layers and the difficulty is what keeps me rooted in my seat. It also rewards you pretty well, which gets addicting. There's so many things to think about. From solving admission, staffing, architecture, and prioritization, to developing teachers, your technology, your facilities, and most importantly, having a great balancing act with money. Understanding the kind of students you will admit, disciplining them and investing in communities, which really has big changes for you in the game! There's also really rewarding moments for you... such as, rooting for your school team and having them win competitions! It was also fun going on excursions trips, doing research, and writing letters to rival schools. I liked making sure the students have recreational play, but also making sure that the staff has a break room... and aren't so stressed! There were even mini games, from giving Halloween candy, finding a lost wallet to composing a song! What I liked most was observing the teaching role as part of the strategy. I liked how the game defined a teacher not just by the ability to teach, but also through their managing or research skill. Seeing them gain their own certificates made it feel like they were developing like a person would. There's actually development in career options, which expands the strategy. Since there's so many layers, there's many different kinds of problem solving that satisfy me. There are many different kinds of success you can have as well! It doesn't have to be all academics. I really liked how meticulous you could be, right down to the uniform, which adds a lot to the roleplay! It really made me feel accountable for my school. I was so annoyed by one of the other reviews on here saying that this was not fun to "micromanage"... I completely disagree. There are ways to optimize it so you don't have to "micromanage." If they wanted a simulator, they definitely got it with Let's School! I definitely didn't feel like this was too much-- it was all very well blended and the on-boarding tutorial was very helpful. (Maybe that person craved a simpler game?) But anyway, I really recommend this because of the layers of intricacy on what you can do in the school. I really love the fact that I clearly see the developers working with the comments of the community and really improving the game with meaningful updates and patches. I've seen so many great scenarios I haven't even gotten to try! (I've only been playing for 2 days, but I literally couldn't stop.) The only things I can say that's for improvement is: - I wish that the old traditional Japanese school aesthetic wasn't a downgrade or earthquake prone in career mode! I felt I had to sacrifice the aesthetics I want in order to progress the game well. - When we have the graduation picture, I feel weird with the chairs behind us while the kids sit on the floor really awkwardly. Perhaps it's preparing space for a full batch pic, but when you're starting out (and you always have to) it looks very awkward. I suggest an extra arrangement for smaller classes. - Maybe I'm still in early game, but the speech drafts are pretty repetitive. (Though I did read that they expand with the auditorium.) But anyway those are nitpicks, the game is great! Totally worth the price, and more, even! I hope you all sim lovers get to try it out :) Thank you for the game! P.S. I do have a very important question for the developers though, and that is... can the headmaster ever lose weight from all that moon cakes she ate? LOL

I don't usually make reviews but this game deserves one. I played the demo "Let's School Homeroom" back before this even released and spent a good 8 hours messing around, which is the longest I've ever spent on a demo. I finally cracked and bought it a week ago (due to the sale) and as a full time university student who is fairly busy, I have truly spent all my free time playing this (including free time I really should have spent sleeping). What I like: - This is probably the most addictive game I've played in a long time - My favourite tycoon type game honestly ever - Very very solid as a game to play in the background (once you have everything going), so great for watching movies or youtube while playing - Seeing how good your school is doing is very rewarding - Cats - You can play infinitely after winning (I'm planning to keep my save going until all the other principles retire lol) - So much more!!! Missing elements and problems: - Takes some time to get the hang of (but so good once you do!) - Janitors - More clubs (particularly one for science and humanities) (Maybe robotics and debate would be good?) - pop up for when a teacher makes a demand, because i often miss them - The class learning stuff seems wrong, and I've just gotten used to knowing they will all pass even when the games says everyone will fail - Missing an achievement for winning via clubs - a couple rooms like the tea room or the announcement? room need to be a little too big - I made the worst sounding song ever and have been punished to hear it every period 5, i am in hell help, let me turn off hearing it please, I want to hear my good songs, but I only hear monsters For a first time play, you need to do normal (or easy i guess) and do fast time. Anything longer is way too slow of a start unless you already know what you are getting yourself into. If it's similar to the demo I played, you get to keep your save files, so just try the demo and see if you'll like it, if this doesn't convince you

Currently, this is the best school tycoon imo. Even better than campus tycoon or so on. Quite fun cozy game to waste your time for. Graphic: 7/10 . The graphic sometimes glitchy with it's low poly. The characters sometimes walk through some obstacle like it's does'nt have any collision. It's bearable tho' Gameplay: 8/10 . Imo it's more fun than other tycoon games like campus life, zoo tycoon, etc. Sound : 7/10. It's standard. Something still lacking tho', like: 1. clubs still very few (last update gave us 3 clubs). 2. No Indoor sport, like indoor basketball court, indoor pool, etc. 3. No tracking field 4. We decide who student going into what club. In real life, student decide it by themself, but in this game, student is like employee 5. You cannot create an empty room without facility

At first I thought this game was a simple school campus simulator. Then the map was shown to me and I realized that I must conquer the continent. Only then would I feel satisfaction.
