It has charm in small doses. Playing for more than an hour or two at time makes me a little peeved at the slightly janky controls but despite that it is a bit hypnotic. The bug catching mini-game is super important for earning money, as well as the blueberry cheesecake. I wish I had known that the magic broom doesn't stop giving you XP for sweeping the flour, because then I would have bought it sooner. I thought it was like the sprinklers, where you stop getting XP for watering the plants.

Fun game for a bit. I couldn't figure out a way to make more than $120 in a day no matter how many upgrades I got. So don't plan on seeing a significant increase in profits even as you add upgrades. The cosmetic upgrades for your room are not worth the time considering you only see the bedrooms screen for a few seconds before you start your day. They should not be worth as much money as they are. Ultimately, I finished seeing what I felt there was to see in about 14 hours.

I've finished this game in its entirety and collected all the achievements! It's such a cute game and the atmosphere feels warm. It gets nicer and easier when you've upgraded everything. Pros: - PETS! AND THREE OF THEM! - ANIMALS - There's a BIG variety of pastries that you unlock as you level up. - You can change the menu from day to day basis - There's character customization and the accessories are so cute! - Ghosts (not scary ones if you hate them) - Catch bugs to earn more coins - The recipes are always onscreen, you don't need to memorize them Cons: - The menu. I have to be aware of the combo of every pastry I put in it so that I can get a 100% tip. I'm sure it is a part of the game but it can sometimes get a bit annoying especially when you have some pastries on the menu for too long and it affects the tip percentage. - When it comes to game controls. Boy. I don't know how many times I miss when trying to pick up ingredients. It's challenging, and I don't really know if it's better to play with a controller than a mouse/keyboard combo. - Getting the 10,000 coin achievement is incredibly grindy. I think my menu combos sucked but I also stopped caring about getting the highest possible tip percentage because you just want to get the achievement over with. Overall, a nice game. I remember I couldn't get enough of it when I first bought it. If you don't mind the cons, then by all means, go ahead and try it!

Lemon Cake is a charming indie game that delivers exactly what it promises—a cute, simple, and relaxing experience. While it has its share of minor flaws, it’s an enjoyable title overall and worth checking out. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. This game shines as a pick-up-and-play experience, perfect for an hour or two at a time. It’s designed to be approachable, with a bite-sized gameplay loop that works well for casual sessions. Although completing the game takes longer, its simplicity means you can easily return after a break without feeling lost. That said, the repetitive nature of the gameplay can start to feel grindy if you try to power through it all at once. One thing to note is that Lemon Cake doesn’t have a major story or intense dialogue. If you’re looking for a narrative-driven experience, this might not be the game for you. However, this lack of complexity complements its simple, pick-up-and-play nature perfectly. There’s no need to worry about forgetting key plot points if you take a long break from the game. It’s also an excellent choice when you just want to turn off your brain for a bit. The low-pressure gameplay lets you focus solely on keeping your bakery in order, making it a relaxing escape. The graphics are absolutely adorable , with a cozy art style that fits the game’s relaxing tone. You even have the ability to transform your café into a cat café— and yes, you can pet the cats ! That alone is a huge win in my book! The gameplay itself is simple yet satisfying, with just enough challenge to keep you engaged. The unlockable upgrades are well-paced, giving a sense of progression without overwhelming you. Each upgrade feels meaningful, encouraging you to keep going. Even the purely decorative bedroom unlocks are clearly labeled as such, so you know what to expect. However, once all unlockables are acquired, the game’s progression slows considerably. I found myself with nothing to spend my money on and still had several levels to grind before reaching 100% completion. Adding more things to buy or speeding up the experience gain would address this issue. While the game is delightful, there’s room for improvement. The most noticeable problem is the hitboxes for ingredients. Whether they’re too large or misplaced, it’s unclear— but it’s frustrating when you keep picking up the wrong item. The system is tied to your character’s position, so precise mouse placement doesn’t help. It’s something you eventually adapt to, but it feels clunky early on. Another minor issue is with the cats: if two cats are on the cat tree at the same time, you can only pet one of them. It doesn’t affect gameplay very much, but for someone who loves petting every cat, it’s a little disappointing. Lastly, the beehive unlock’s description mentions being careful not to step on the bees, but this feature doesn’t seem to exist. Whether it was removed or a glitch, it’s misleading since the game still mentions it. Character customization is quite limited, though it does include a darker skin tone and a couple of natural hairstyles, which is nice to see. Despite these quirks, Lemon Cake is an endearing game that’s worth playing for its cozy charm and enjoyable mechanics. If you’re looking for something relaxing to unwind with, it’s a delightful addition to your library— just don’t expect perfection.

Lemon Cake strikes a delightful balance as a cozy cooking and farming simulator, offering just enough challenge to keep you engaged without becoming overwhelming. The game's bakery management system presents an interesting learning curve - juggling customer demands adds a dash of excitement to the otherwise relaxed gameplay. While the initial limitation of two tables creates some early-game pressure, this minor constraint doesn't detract from the overall experience. The game's charm lies in its sweet simplicity and engaging progression system. From managing your flourishing farm to perfecting your pastry craft, every aspect feels thoughtfully designed to keep players invested until the final recipe is mastered. It's the kind of game that proves you don't need complex mechanics to create a thoroughly satisfying experience. For anyone seeking a warm, inviting simulation game that serves up the perfect mix of challenge and comfort, Lemon Cake delivers a truly delectable experience. 🎮Audience🎮 ❌ Kids ❌ Teens ❌ Adults ❌ Hardcore Gamers ✅ Everyone 🌆 Graphics 🌆 ❌ You forget what reality is ❌ Masterpiece ❌ Beautiful ✅ Good ❌ Decent ❌ Bad ❌ Don‘t look too long at it ❌ MS-DOS ❌ Pixel / a different style 📖 Story 📖 ❌ No story ❌ Some lore ❌ Average ✅ Good ❌ Lovely ❌ Masterpiece ❌ It'll replace your life 💻 PC Requirements 💻 ✅ Check if you can run paint ❌ Potato ❌ Decent ❌ Fast ❌ Rich boi ❌ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ⌛️ Game Length ⌛️ ❌ Really short (0 - 3 hours) ❌ Short (4 - 8 hours) ✅ Few hours (9 - 20 hours) ❌ Long (21-60 hours) ❌ Very long (61-100 hours) ❌ To infinity and beyond ⚙️ Difficulty ⚙️ ✅ Just press 'W' ❌ Easy ❌ Medium ❌ Easy to learn / Hard to master ❌ Significant brain usage ❌ Difficult ❌ Dark Souls 🎧 Audio - Music 🎧 ❌ I'm now deaf ❌ Audio: %1 ❌ Bad ❌ Not too bad ❌ Good ✅ Very good ❌ Eargasm 🎮 Replayability 🎮 ❌One Shot ❌ It must have been a long time ❌ It must have been some time ✅ Definitely playable ❌ Multiplayer 🔮 Game Modes 🔮 ❌ Multiplayer ✅ Singleplayer ❌ Co-op 😡 Bugs 😡 ✅ Never heard of ❌ Minor bugs ❌ Can get annoying ❌ ARK: Survival Evolved ❌ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs 🎮 Is it worth playing? 🎮 ✅ Yes ❌So-So! ❌ No 🔟 Rating 🔟 08/10
