This game is good enough to be recommended. However, I was looking for a "Head Coach" game just like the old Head Coach 09 and sadly this does not scratch the itch. Fun if you're actually controlling and playing the guys.

This game is a ton of fun and brings me back to the time of 16 bit football. The gameplay takes some getting used to (especially passing and kicking) but becomes second nature after you play through a few games. I am in year 2 of the Franchise mode. The mode isn't super deep but it brings me back a bit to the time of Tecmo Super Bowl 3's "trades" during the off-season on SNES. You can't freely trade players but teams will make moves during the season and you will occasionally get offers from other teams to make a trade. The offseason doesn't have a full free agency mode, but there you will also get offers from other teams when they are planning to let players go. There is also a draft where you can pick players to replace on your current roster. Basically, you have a full roster of players at all times and players can get moved by either offers from the CPU during the season/off-season or from the draft. There are some other options in Franchise like upgrading your stadium, player, or training facilities. The game rosters can be modified on PC (either Windows or Steam OS). I use the NFL mod roster from the Discord and it is pretty great. Overall, 100% recommend when it is on sale. When it is off sale, I 100% recommend it to people looking for a football fix on the PC and have finally given up on Madden like I have.

This game is soooooo fun, the retro style makes it look unique and the game mechanics are challenging, yet easy to get used to. So far im having a ton of fun with franchise, and hope to see more come to this game! PS: someone pls make a cfl team mod, im too lazy to make my own logos and ye. lol
