Sept. 2024

The game's story revolves around the traditional Chinese custom of "happy funerals" (喜丧), while also encompassing a tragic reflection of the times, with deep and profound meaning. I really appreciate this storyline. Additionally, the entire visual presentation of the game, with its hand-drawn style, is incredibly charming, and I love it. The gameplay mechanics are simple and easy to understand; the puzzle-solving aspect is somewhat monotonous, but the cohesive art style makes it worth purchasing this game.

This game made me cry. With stylish Chinese ink painting visuals, Laughing to Die unfolds a hard-hitting realistic story from the perspective of a little girl at the funeral of her grandmother, revealing a lifelong tragedy. The narrative, well-layered and highly satirical, addresses some serious social issues such as human trafficking, gender discrimination, and ancient Chinese superstitions. It is one of the best narrative games I've played in years. I can't recommend this game enough.

Maybe I was a little bit stupid, but the fact that I did not manage to piece together the two timelines made that very last "I want to go home" sentence even more potent. Hit me like a truck. Started sobbing uncontrollably. How good a game is related to how emotionally affected I am and I am emotionally wrecked. If you understand Mandarin, do yourself a favour and play the game.

Finished the game and WOW. - Very cute art and extremely realistic story that makes you sad, disgusted and angry at the world because this sort of thing is still happening. - Very detailed, even the small little items in storage has very good descriptions which makes this even more sad - Loved the game, but I lacked the brain cells to complete some of the puzzles on my own (thank you walkthroughs). This is totally my skill issue though so my recommendation is to just click, slide and tap around, something will work eventually. You can climb higher sometimes too!!! - Please note that this game is quite short, where you click and move around to discover more of the story. I still recommend getting this though, just maybe at a discount if you don't feel like getting this at full price. May we all find our way home to the people we love and care about. AND LET GRANNY GO HOME >:(( P.S. I hate the granny's children like even the grandchild is better than all of you please be ashamed of yourselves

卑鄙的游戏，玩完以后哭的我想死。尤其是最后一秒奶奶身后被钉死的窗户亮了，我爆哭。还有那首轻轻的“世上只有妈妈好”的旋律，有股自己被处决了的绝望感。奶奶到死都必须和害了她一生的人在一起，作者你真的...... 大家都他妈去给我玩，都给我往死哭！！！
