If Hallmark Started Making Video Games, This Would Be it... ...And that is NOT A BAD THING. I honestly want an entire company that makes games exactly like this, with full funding. There are no high stakes, and I LOVE that. There is enough gameplay to make it feel worthwhile, it's insanely cozy, the setting is gorgeous, the music is sweet and good, and the characters are exactly the sorts you'd find in a Hallmark movie, with the same problems, and it's PERFECT. I genuinely mean this, I LOVE that this feels like a Hallmark movie. It made me realize that that's just not a thing. I'd love to see this concept expanded on, perhaps with even a little more gmaplay. Like imagine if you were playing a Hallmark romance with characters to choose from? Imagine one of those ones where like it's a time loop that you have to figure out, and you've got to hunt down exactly what makes it different- or you come back to take care of your family's farm, and you have to do farm chores every day. A farming game that isn't EXACTLY a full farming game, but a soft sim. My Only Complaint For reference, I'm playing on SteamDeck. My only real complaint is the camera. I tried checking the settings to see if I could disable the snapping of the camera while you drive, and I couldn't find anything. I think the idea was to have the camera comfortably sit so you're constantly able to see the sky, but my eye is distracted by the entire bottom half of the screen belonging to the back of the mail truck. It's bright white, so it stands out in VERY stark contrast to the rest of the setting. If I keep my camera stick slightly tilted, it stops the camera from resetting, so I can kind of angle it exactly where I want it, but I do wish there was a way to stop the camera from constantly snapping back to where it wants to rest. I haven't tested if there's an ability to go first person, but the option to be able to drive in first person mode (not as a replacement, but a toggleable option) would also be a great way to work it. Mild Wishes/Complaints With full funding and a full dev cycle, this could probably have been expanded on a lot. It's obvious that certain things just couldn't be modeled/animated, like the inside of a character's home when you go to babysit her kids. The world is so beautiful, and I'd have loved to be able to see more- the actual kids, the inside of homes, being able to walk around in my home. I do understand why it isn't. If there was ever more funding for future games similar to this- hell, even in the same setting with a slightly different story, or a "different town, same atmosphere"- I'd love to see what it could accomplish. Also, let me fish. Idk what it is about games like this and being able to go fishing, but I want to go fishing, lmfao.

Ok, the game is relaxing and if u wanna get away from everyday life's stress it is very good for it. But i guess the story should've been much more rich. Ä°t took me seversl hours to finish the game. The choice of the dialog is nice. Endings are nice too. Only objection is game is super short.

One of my favourite games. The story line is amazing and well written. I love that there are multiple endings and different choice interactions. I am even more excited now that the endless mode has been added. It is what was missing from the game. It's extremely relaxing and I just found myself wanting to keep playing, but once you have completed the game a number of times, it did leave me wanting a mode for just delivering packages. I am so excited about the DLC adding content too, as I desperately wanted more storyline added to this. The voice acting, feel of the game, music and game mechanics make it both relaxing and fun. Top favourite. Love it.

It's good, not great. More so, it feels like a bit of wasted potential? I wish there were not only more choices and more character interactions to have, I wish they also properly impacted things more because as it stands now... they rarely do. The various stories are fine, but a lot of them felt like they were missing something. I would've been more than happy to do more side errands to get more depth to the stories with all the characters you interact with, but a lot of them are like 2 or 3 times at most and you only get a surface level feel for what's going on. The mechanics of the game are fine, it does work as a cozy relaxing game and the environment is very nice, but in the end it kind of just feels like an idea that isn't fully fleshed out. Even having said all that, if you see this on sale and want a nice little cozy game to play for 6 or 7 hours, definitely give it a shot as it does tick some boxes. I haven't tested out endless mode, but I have a pretty good idea of what i'm going to get. Hopefully their next game has a bit more to chew on.

Great idea, poor implementation Lake is a story-driven game where you play as a daughter who replaces her father as a postman. All actions take place in a small town around a lake. On your way you will meet many interesting characters and situations. I fell in love with this game at first. Incredibly beautiful graphics in a stylized low-poly style are my weakness. Silence, calm and comfort, that's what I felt when I started playing this game. In addition, a simple and interesting plot complemented the whole harmony. The work of a postman diluted the gameplay and gave time to think and relax, but not everything was as we would like... The first thing that catches your eye is the lack of facial animation and emotions. This game is built on a deep plot and there is such a huge flaw here. Most of the time the animation is good, the mouth opens in time with the speech, but when the character expresses emotion, it is not visible at all. The second big problem is the lack of city life and rendering distance . The game has traffic and pedestrians, but they are implemented very poorly. The number of people and cars is extremely small. I understand it's a small city, but they could be increased in the town center. What about the draw distance, it immediately breaks the magical feeling of the game. There are no trees visible on the other side of the lake, only the terrain, although there is vegetation there, if you get close enough. Why you can’t put low-poly LODs of trees or pictures is not clear. There are also minor bugs. For example, the game map for navigation does not match the real world, the roads are different in many places. Sometimes there are visual errors in game locations. And for some reason, the red flags on mailboxes don’t go up when we put letters there. The animation of the characters sometimes plays crookedly and we can ring the bell while being two meters away from it. There are many such things and this also has a very negative effect on the gaming experience. The last thing that upset me was the 10 photo limit with the camera and the inability to save those photos. The game has amazing stylized graphics, but we don't have a photo tool . This is the biggest minus! Anyway, I recommend only buying the base game at a discount. I’ll write about the DLC in a separate review, but in short, this is a terribly boring addition, don't buy it.
