one of my favorites games, this is a game for relaxing and no pressure, for when you had a rough day and you'd like to just chill out and get lost it has relaxing music, relaxing atmospheric environments, there is no pressure for you to do challenges, if you just don't feel like this place for now, you can turn back and return to it however later you deem fit as the map is huge and let's you get lost without pressure. You get some dialogues, but aren't bombarded with them and again usually it's nothing heavy to detract from relaxing, sometimes they are stupid, but so is interaction with people (or fairies in this case), but I really appreciate that emotions can get serious sometimes, but need to be handled, because that's what adulting is about don't take this as a super challenging game, its not hard, don't take it as a super story driven thing, its not, just enjoy exploration and relax during it one big negative tho - the end really is anticlimatic and boring, the developer clearly intended for you to be here for the journey not so much for the end

i'm really not sure what to think about this game, but I think I can at least say it's one of the most interesting 2D exploration games I've ever played. the worst character portraits known to man hide a story that's both deeply personal and serious yet extremely flippant at the same time. the map is way too big but it's also cathartic to work your way through bit by bit, dealing with some occasionally cleverly designed challenges. maybe it's because I haven't played Within a Deep Forest and Saira for additional context, but the game seemed to operate on its own bizarre wavelength, unconcerned about what people might think of it. there's something admirable about that, even if I don't agree with a lot of its design.

Great exploration game that oozes personality, unique in many ways. I'm surprised it didn't get more attention. The map is masterfully designed and interconnected. Once you're free to roam the world, you won't want to leave one spot unexplored. It's one of those games with a mute protagonist that lets you be and do your thing, in which everything feels organic. I would compare it to Cave Story in that sense, but much less linear and with no combat nor leveling. Traversing the world doesn't feel like a chore at any point since the movement feels good and the mechanics are few and easy to learn, but nicely implemented and exploited, including optional segments that push the platforming aspect of the game to the limit and pose a very exciting challenge. There's a good and unpredictable story under the surface of this strange looking cave, with a cast full of personality, especially the main characters, that kept slowly growing on me even though they might look plain at first. The atmosphere and soundtrack are superb. The worldbuilding is subtle but constant and it's been very interesting to learn piece by piece about the context of where you are, how this world works and the mentality and conclusions of the inhabitants that also try to make sense of the world around them. Plenty of content and full of secrets to discover. I can't recommend Knytt Underground enough; if you like what you see, listen to the positive reviews you might've already read and try to go in as blind as possible.

Gentle Reconmend, Pre-face, no clue what the knytt series is and a solid way into chapter 3 which seems significantly larger than the previous chapters, I picked it up on sale for under £1.50/$2 platformer with each chapter building on the controls, Pros, amazing world building, nice graphics, nice controls, good consistent humour, relaxing, I loved exploring everything it was rather relaxing Neutral, rather short but its not a cheap game, Negatives - time consuming to navigate, this isnt a issue in earlier shorter chapters but it does drag the game down especially when back tracking in chapter 3 (the last chapter), plot is ok but falls short of anything substantial, its a nice game and on sale its 1000% worth it on sale and if you like the genre the full price is probably worth it
