Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche is absolutely a masterpiece. This is one of those games that I just kinda stared at the screen when it was done, wishing I could experience it all over. It is a "Golden Time" that I treasured. The graphics are beautiful, colorful, and really "pop." The writing is really good. I went into this expecting light story lines with pretty girls, but finished with a sense of purpose to look for my Golden Times. I woke up the next day still thinking about the end, so I can say it really resonated with me. I very nearly put this one permanently into my backlog because of the "commoner/royalty" trope, but trust me, it gets better. The common route is pretty solid, and builds up a backstory for the individual routes. It was actually pretty fun, and I enjoyed it. The only negative I have is the use of the MC's "bad memory" of the past to adjust things for each route. I followed this route order, note that Akane is a bonus route and unlocks after one playthrough on another route. The "true route" only unlocks after following all 4 other routes. It is SO worth working through the other routes to get the final, true route. I recommend this order, as it kind of reveals things in an orderly fashion. It's not gonna ruin things if you go in a different order, so you do you. Reina - She was my fave in the common route, her route was OK, with a happy domestic ending. Akane- Standard bonus route, shallow and short. The character is cute though. Heroina- I enjoyed this route, enjoyed seeing the domestic side of the mighty knight. Sylvia- Obviously the favored and intended route. Long and well fleshed out. If you're only going to play one route, this would be the one. But seriously, play them all because the "true route" is where it's at. True route- Freakin' roller coaster of emotions. Best route 10/10, made a grown ass man cry. Hidden ending- Yeah, still hits in the feels pretty hard. There is an HD patch on Steam, so definitely take advantage of that-it takes the graphics to another level. There's also an R18 patch on nekonyan's site, so if you are into H scenes grab that. No mosaics. I recommend a guide that is on "Nook Gaming" if you want to get all the CGs, achievements, and the hidden ending that kinda ties everything up with a ribbon.

Kinkoi was a fantastic read through and through. The whole plot was insanely well done and every thing wraps up nicely in each of the girls routes. The whole theme of this novel was remarkably well done the whole way through and I loved the classical music soundtrack that accompanied every scene. The common route itself was incredibly short, but it did a great job introducing all the characters while also showing off all of their personalities in such a short frame. I loved how each individual heroines route made the bulk of the read without also leaving me impatient to just get it over with. Overall Kinkoi was a stellar read and even at full price it is more than worth the money. Also Reina best girl hands down.

Highly recommended. The last route especially holy shit. Idk how to explain y'all gotta play the game to understand but the whole slice of life elements was such a good introduction for what this VN ended up becoming towards the end. Definitely worth a read!

I bought this on a whim and was very surprised how amazingly good and sad the story can be. This is an amazing title and now that I realized there is extra stories separately sold— Im buying that now to continue. Buy this! <3 Ria Edit- I forgot to mention. This game plays amazingly on Steam Deck. You just need to adjust the resolution to 1280x720 in the Steam Deck launch options for the text to not go off the screen. There were a few instances where character faces weren’t on their faces which did make me laugh but outside of that.. the game worked flawlessly!

I miss this game already The memory that is made inside the "Noble academy" has grown on me so much lately, I already feel nostalgic thinking back to it. I kind of abandoned this game once and never thought I would come back. But I don't regret picking it up again one bit. Kinkoi feels like there's a multiple layer to the story. You could play one route and be satisfied. But to depict the full story of it, you need to replay a lot in comparison to other VNs. To sum up without spoilers: the story itself has taken some unexpected turns. Finish one route, more options will pop up. When you think you finished them all, restart again, you will get a different ending. If you can handle noble-commoner trope at the start, BGM that doesn't go well together when transitioned, somewhat dragged story telling with intentional misinformation that you know it's not true but the protagonist doesn't, anticlimactic start for romance parts, go for it . ______ also this one is heck of a quality side dish .
