petition for using this as an educational game to warn people to be safe on the internet especially when downloading files. It shows you many ways how virus can mess up your pc, which is kinda scary. The actual scares felt a little forced but it was a nice game. !!EDUCATIONAL GAME FOR THE SAFTEY ON THE INTERNET!! PERIOD.

As someone who has anxiety about my PC getting hacked, this game was fucking terrifying in all the right ways. The game itself is about KinitoPET, which is a spin-off of popular 2000s desktop assistants; such as Clippy or Bonzi Buddy. You start your game with having to log into your own PC (which, you do NOT have to enter your actual password for if you don't want to. It accepts any input.) and finally you get to explore a weird retro-version of.. your own desktop! You eventually get some weird bugged-out popups, which then brings you to a download page for KinitoPET. Choosing to download the software will start the game. You and Kinito will have many adventures, such as getting to know eachother, meeting other friends, reading stories, or even playing games together! Despite how much I praise this game, there was a couple things I was wary about before downloading the game. Other reviews mentioned extremely loud noises, gore, and general bugginess that I didn't know if I was ready for. I'll detail some stuff I was worried about and the reality of it below. Obviously, warnings for very minor spoilers (and the medium/major spoilers are marked as so). I'll try not to leak major details of the game in either regular text or spoilered text. 1.) "Sensitive content". I don't do well with gore or jumpscares. I have autism and HATE loud noises, sudden movements, or things jumping at me. Some reviews specifically mentioned the usage of gore and heavy jumpscares in this game. As a person who gets frightened easily, I can say you will expect jumpscares when they'll really just be Walten Files or Mandela Catalogue type jumpscares, where it's just a scary image that appears on your screen. There isn't anything jumping at you which was my main concern. As far as the gore goes, there was one part in the Room decorating level where you would scroll up and find what looks like a corpse in a trashbag and wrapped up in duct tape. Think like.. if you've ever seen those hotel pranks where people wrap their blankets to look like a body and wrap the phone wire around it. The only instance of actually showing anything is the blood trail that follows behind it. Otherwise, I didn't catch any other gore. 2.) Turning up your volume/audio issues. I saw in a review that someone didn't recommend the game because it "turned their volume all the way up and jumpscared them". The only instance of this I found was when Kinito turns up your audio manually to use a whispering text-to-speech voice. Otherwise, you're free to turn it back down afterwards and I didn't see any other instances of the audio forcibly turning up. 3.) Icons disappearing. People have had issues with forcequitting the game and their icons stay invisible on the desktop. If you want to fix this, right-click your desktop/wallpaper, hover over "view", and then press "Show desktop icons". This should return your icons to how they were. After the game bugging once, I used that trick to fix it and never had issues with it afterwards. 4.) Continuing the game. After you complete the game, it isn't over! There are other endings you can after completing your initial run-through. To do this, boot up KinitoPET and open the new app on your desktop called "Finder". It should be a magnifying glass. When you move the finder window around your screen, you will have to find 5 different floppy discs hidden around the PC at different levels (you can use the Chapter Selector to directly teleport to the right times). If you're wanting to go this route, the true ending, I'd recommend checking out https://gamepro.tips/kinitopet-100-achievement-guide-secrets/ for their in-depth tutorial on how to get it. If you're still on the fence about it, i'd consider how comfortable you are with series like Mandela Catalogue or the Walten files. If you're good with those, you'll most likely feel the same about KinitoPET. Graphics are great (especially in the boot-up screen and the "Your World" section) and I honestly felt a little terrified for like 2 days after playing it LOL. Would recommend.

One of the most creative, shocking, and insane horror games I've ever played. Not overly scary, no cheap jump scares at all, but it's never boring, not for a single second. Really freaky and anxiety inducing. Makes you feel very uncomfortable and uneasy the entire time. If I played this game 20 years ago I would've been 100% convinced Kinito was real and actually took over my computer. 10/10 I really hope this dev does more stuff!

I played it on Windows 11, and it really spooked me out. Here's some issues I found when I played on said OS (SPOILERS): 1. Kinito seems to only adjust your volume until the last value you set. Also, the hand goes to the top left corner instead of the bottom center on latest versions of Windows 11. 2. On laptops, Kinito does not turn off the display, and any TVs connected will not shut off. 3. Paint does not open when "the person standing behind you" writes your name. 4. Sometimes, when Streamer Mode is off, Kinito would type "where is my location" but the actual location is not displayed. Instead, it's a tutorial on how to know your location.
