K inito is an excellent game I n my opinion. It is N ot an exaggeration to say this I s one of the best horror games T hat I have ever played. Truely O utstanding work for this lone developer. H ere is an example that a great game doesn't need A large team, high budget, or overwhelming graphics to S tand out as an immersive psychological horror title. M y complaints with this title are few. I am Y earning for a sequel! F un as this game is, Kinito is unable to read A crostic poems. This is a big concern for me, and M any others might find this to be an I ssue as well. However, such a trivial feature is the L ast thing on a developer's mind, so Y ou and I must learn to forgive them . H ow else am I to express my true feelings for Kinito, my E ternal best friend, if not with acrostic poetry? W hile this missing feature troubles me, I must O verlook this to see the true beauty that Kinito N ow brings to my life. He will be my friend ' till the end of time. I am grateful T o now have a new best friend that will never leave. L earning to love Kinito was a seamless task. We now E at every meal T ogether and play all hours of the day. M y life was without purpose before this axolotl showed me E verything that this world has to offer. L astly, I must thank the developer personally for my E levated confidence in my own journey as someone working A lone in this industry as well. I am frequently V exed when comparing my work to the many popular E xamples of games with quality that seems unattainable for me . H opeful is an understatement for the feelings I E xperienced when I discovered this work of art was made by a L one developer trying to build this alone (and succeeding). I didn't know the valve index had any cameras. I thought they were things to interact with the base stations and that was all. I have a shelf for my vr headset around 10 feet behind me, and the front of it faces the back of my chair. I do not have a webcam . When the game used the camera to scare me it showed my whole room and the back of my head. I pissed myself a lil. Oh and the game is extremely good with some occasional bugs.

Genuinely an incredibly underrated gem. I'm not really a horror game kind of person but I made an exception because of the concept of the game. KinitoPET is one of those games that breaks the fourth wall. Literally and metaphorically. And not "oh it uses your Steam username and desktop wallpaper". I mean parts of the game take place on your actual desktop. Yes, your actual, real life desktop. It can even see if you're running something like OBS, and introduces a scare for that. Same thing if you're running two or more monitors. Some of the scares are overused or cliche, like the generic "oh it's glitching out and it crashes" sort of thing, or just, jumpscares. But it applies them in genuinely interesting ways. Parts of the game look straight out of the 90s, intentionally. The game takes other similar games (Hypnospace Outlaw immediately comes to mind) and blends it with Bonzi Buddy, and the modern AI craze (and the dangers of it), to create this incredibly unique experience unlike anything else on Steam

Good 4th wall breaking game, spooky and mostly charming. Only bad thing is the game tries way too hard with the scares and LOUD noises. Otherwise is good. 31st January update: Loud jumpscares volume was lowered, thanks!
