Started playing this game when it first came out when my brother and I shared an account and went for hours on different characters. Made a new steam account and this was one of the first games I got. I love playing every minute of this game since it's a huge change of pace and style from the standard AAA fps. The replayability is perfect. Each character you make is an opportunity to unlock new character types for your next run, and when you either die/finish your run, you can take 1 item to give to your next hero (or villain, to each their own). There's tons of ways to alter your playstyle. Inventory management and organization is especially key. Being overwhelmed by your own tabs instead of the enemies is not the way you wanna go out. There's ton more to talk about on the game in terms of content but you can browse around other reviews for that. Can't recommend it enough. 10/10 but would love a spontaneous update every now and then to add some new items for us players who have dug very deep into the game :)

An old-school rpg with a new twist. Very re-playable: I'm setting this down for now but have plans to come back to it. Also the original developer got the rights back, so play on!

EDIT: LONG LIVE THE KINGSWAY https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/588950/view/4232902400542915117 F*CK WARNER BROS Warner Bros. is yet again making another trash decision and are going to delist all Adult Swim published games on Steam. I love this game as it's such a unique, one-of-a-kind game and a wonderful take on the roguelike genre. It sucks that this game and many others are going to be delisted and that Warner Bros. is refusing to give ownership of these games back to the developers. If you haven't played this game, buy it and give it a try before it gets delisted.

Unfortunately this title is set to be delisted soon but it is absolutely worth picking up, assuming it runs properly on your setup. The game is a ton of fun and the randomized nature makes you want to start a new run as soon as you complete one. The last (and totally unexpected, btw) content update was in 2021 and added half a game's worth of contents so I am still discovering new encounters and items. The point and click Windows clone OS is not only VERY satisfying to use (it's not quite Windows 3.1 quality but it's really close... I think a lot of effort went into this to feel as responsive as it does and that would make sense as it's how you directly interact with the game) but also just a great take of retro tile based RPGs from the 3.1 era like Castle of the Winds. There are some issues with non-standard refresh rates (see discussions) and non responsive or blank screens. If in doubt, I'd say refund but you may not be able to buy again. Runs perfect on my laptop but my desktop sometimes gives the white screen.

Fuck Warner Bros. and their obtuse, short-sighted greed. I bought this game shortly after seeing the trailer for it, as its commitment to an old-school OS interface was irresistible to my 90s nostalgia. I've returned to it more than most games in my library, and have genuinely enjoyed long sprints through its world. It's very clearly a labor of love from one talented individual, and it deserves better than to be unceremoniously removed due to corporate bullshit along with a string of other unique games. Pick it up and give it a try, and maybe even preserve it from extinction.
