Remember this game laying around on one of our computers as a child. Then one day it sorta disappeared. Glad that I manage to beat it after almost 40 years. It's not for everyone's cup of tea but if you want to experience a game like the earliest of adventure or Monkey Island games, then this might be up your alley. The first game isn't that hard once you figure things out. Still plenty to miss, The bad part is that King Quest's 1 controls are a bit wonky, so you have to get used to the slow nature of 80's games, but it's an easy fix. WIth 1 completed, I got 6 more to go.

fun games but very frustrating at times. Theres ALOT of ways you can hit a dead end in the games, like using an item too early and having it be gone forever, only to end up needing it later on and theres nothing you can do except restart the whole thing, so make alot of saves and if you feel like you've been lost for too long look up a guide. Other than that they are pretty fun and have a lot of charm.

Not to put down the other games which are varying degrees of fine, good, and great-ish but King's Quest VI is the reason you want this even if you don't know it yet.

I would recommend looking up a bit on each of the games before starting if you're new to the series. The pictures they show in the store only show images for the games 5, 6 and 7 which are widely considered the best of the series especially 6. The older series entries do not look or play quite the same the further back you go. These games are quite challenging and can offer a fun time with some patience. Enjoy your questing!
