A beautifully crafted strategy/RPG hybrid. The core gameplay is straightforward: explore the world, find that *one* army that you're *barely* able to defeat at any given point, and beat it. IMO, you can only really appreciate this game at higher difficulty levels. At Hard and Impossible, the odds are stacked so heavily against you that you can only win by milking every tiny advantage to the fullest. But when you do win, it's glorious. The lovely, cartoon-y 3D art has aged surprisingly well.

It's been a few years since I finished the first game ("the Legend"), and while in my memory the first game was a bit better, Armored Princess gives you exactly what you expect from a sequel. A new world, new units, some new mechanics and some more story. The main story is pretty basic. You venture into a new world to collect the stones of power so that you can save your homeland from a demon invasion. The writing is never too deep, but the sidequest do have some entertaining storylines that are unusual for the genre (e.g. collecting information on how different people use soap [spoiler: not for washing], batteling a dragon that eats drunken dwarfs to cure its hangover or talking to living stones from outer space). I also love the bossfights in this game, as they require some tactics and feel quite different from the usual battles. On normal difficulty, there were only 2-3 fights in the game where I needed a second attempt though, and usually only because I like to play lossless (which is almost impossible in bossfights, so I get an entirely new army for them). The soundtrack is almost the same as in the first game with only a few new tracks, but that is fine as the soundstrack is still gorgeous. Overall, I can recommend this game for cozy sessions where you just want to chill and dont think too much. I definetly enjoyed it.

A good game. The story is kind of basic and it gets a bit repetitive with all the fighting but it's a very relaxing and nice game.

There's nothing quite like King's Bounty, and there's no King's Bounty like Armored Princess. Play it on lower difficulties for a mellow point and click adventure-like experience with lovely aesthetic design. Play it on higher difficulties for a meaty RPG experience. Either way you get a pet dragon. It's hard to not have fun with this game.

I just finished the game, it’s after 2:00 and my eyes are glazing over BUT WHAT FUN I HAD! I didn’t even realize I was hooked on the game at first lol I thought the game looked cool so I got it and started playing it and the next thing I know, I’m spending A.Lot.Of.Time (too much time actually lol) trying to figure out how to kill this or that boss (I’m terrible at gaming so it’s always a struggle to kill bosses but man a few of the bosses in the game stumped me, thank heavens for the internet which gave me answers). Highly recommend the game but be warned, it’s very addictive lol
