I don't think the game deserve all those bad reviews. Despite being quite similar to its predecessors (Kingdom Two Crowns), it does have a progressing and interesting plot. Will check out the next chapter if it comes out.

its a good game but if its a toned down version of kingdom two crowns, if anything. I love the small story instead of playing aimlessly and hunting greed but it felt too easy even on harder difficulties as compared to two crowns. The weapons and equipment provided in this game makes it too easy but overall its a fun game.

Kingdom Eighties is a nostalgic game about paying off kindergartners to help you win summer back for everyone. Beat it on Normal in 4 hours, then went around getting achievements for a good 8 more - using a keyboard. Difficulty can be set in game. This is a good entrance game to the series. Like Kingdom's little bro. Casual-normal are fair for kids and newcomers, hard is for those who want a little challenge, and Cursed is for everyone else who's played the rest of Kingdom's franchise line. There's also a survival mode to see how long you can last. Unlike the other games, Kingdom 80s is single-player only. Assumingly because you play a specific character. Also unlike other Kingdoms, this game follows a story. Meaning it's linear. You cannot go back to previous lands. Each land accompanies a VHS-style cartoon vid leading you onto the next chapter. There are 4 chapters total, each filled to the brim with fun oldschooled Saturday Morning vibes, rides that are a blast from the past, and all the static flair and vibrant colors you will ever dream of. The soundtrack is rad. Perfect for this universe. The assets have been repixelled for the 80s. Now there are present-day buildings, pools, and cars. It's amazing how different it is compared to everything else Fury Studios made with the same assets. While I like the whole of it, there are some things I'd wish were different: One is I wish there was more of a reason to take out portals on the beach side of the map. Like the towers, where you can bring more people to the next area or... I don't know... Something more than one coin bucket and that's it for the rest of the game . Two, I wish there were bigger hints on some of the mounts like the space ship in Part 1 . I loved what they did with this game and the fresh-out-of-the-box newness with it. Definitely worth my money, and I hope to go back and get the two remaining achievements I'm lacking. If you've played Kingdom games and like them, just get this already. You know you'll like it. And it's different enough to give some fresh air.

This is such a wonderful game and I love all the 80's references along with nostalgia. There are somethings that I missed in-game like portals and skill increase statues for your followers/walls. Would love for them to update the game and add portals, more mounts, weapons/shields, and skills for your friends. Also, would love it if they add a back button for each chapter or maps so I can go back to the locations and rebuild/upgrade the kingdom and destroy the enemy portals. All-in-all I will give it a 9/10 for it and looking forward for future content.

Since I first stumbled upon the original Kingdom, it's been my go-to for that cozy gaming experience – you know, the one that lures you in with its calming tunes, charming pixel graphics, and a gameplay mix that's simple yet surprisingly intricate. Over the years, I've dipped my toes into different versions of the game, each bringing its own unique twist. My top pick? Definitely the Shogun expansion. Exploring new islands, encountering fresh monsters, riding mounts, and constructing towers – every iteration felt like an exciting new adventure. Now, let's talk Eighties – the latest addition to the Kingdom family. This time, it's not just about building and surviving; there's a narrative weaving through each stage, turning each island into a chapter. Four chapters later, and you've got yourself a game with an ending. It's not the strongest story you'll experience, yet it works. But, here's the thing that bugs me a bit – the game's a bit on the short side. Complete all four chapters with a regular playthrough, not diving too deep into every nook and cranny, and you're looking at roughly 5-6 hours. And that's me being optimistic. For a 12 euro price tag, it feels a tad brief. Sure, you can stretch it out with replayability, aiming for all the achievements like I did, but there's a limit. Now, there's this "mixtape" mode they threw in – a survival setup where you replay specific chapters, with extra rules and a tougher difficulty. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I'm sure it's got its own fanbase. One thing that kind of bugged me was the fact that there's no co-op mode. Honestly, games like Kingdom, especially ones with this vibe, should totally have a coop feature – it's like a given. I've got some sweet memories of chilling on the couch with my GF, diving into the Kingdom series together, and not having a coop mode in Eighties just felt a bit off. Let's dive a bit more into what makes Kingdom: Eighties so special—the whole 80s vibe is just spot on, I've got to admit. The game manages to capture that nostalgic feel perfectly, with loads of nods to classic movies, series, and games. It's like a blast from the past with all these neat details in different scenes, making the whole experience feel super immersive. And can we talk about the music? Oh man, it's on another level. The Kingdom series has always nailed it in the music department, and Eighties is no exception. The tunes are crazy good. I caught myself more than once just standing in-game, soaking in the 80s vibes from the soundtrack. It's like being transported to this whole other world, whether it's the woods or the busy streets. So, this 80s setup they've got going on isn't just a backdrop. It's the heart of the game. The references, the details, and that killer soundtrack—it all adds up to an experience that deserves to be played. Kingdom: Eighties becomes this trip down memory lane, a visual and musical feast that really pays homage to the awesomeness of the 1980s. It's those little touches that make it more than just a game; it's a memorable journey back in time, and that's what sets it apart in the Kingdom series. I appreciate you taking the time to read through my review. I hope you'll find this and my other reviews somehow helpful! :)
