This game could have benefited from being a lot longer. I think that criticism gets levelled at too many games, so I'll elaborate on why I mean it here: there were so many facets of this character which the game wanted to foreground that it was impossible to cover them all in a memorable way in the 15 minute playtime. There are 16 other characters you have to seek out and all of them have interesting sprites and text, but I could tell I was meant to remember them a lot better than I actually could given my extremely brief interaction with each one. I understand the desire for a short, impactful piece, and I thought this one was well made, but it tried to cover too much ground for its length.

The Game is simple, Spoilers ahead: you play as a man named jonas, the game opens up with your wife in bed being unable to understand why you are pulling yourself away from her, jonas struggles with alcoholism among other traumas the main plot the game follows is jonas... and his 16 demons, the objective of the game is to first talk to the spirit of manipulation and then 15 more negative spirits around the map. once you have spoken to all 16 demons you will hear a knock and when manipulation tells you it's time to come home, you step back into your house to face all 16 of your demons before standing your ground one last time before jonas finally snaps out of it once and for all. I personally didn't like the 17th spirit, they could've maybe changed the way they drew it if it was going to be portrayed as something positive but no... ah well. 90% of the game for me is very edgy dark concepts but 16 spirits people struggle with that i knew very well on a personal level. addiction for example among others makes you really want to look at yourself in a spiritual mirror much like the one at the end of the game. the lesson being that jonas no longer wants to be a footstool for 16 demons anymore. forgiveness is a great starting point. love is a great followup, i personally like the very short concept as far as storytelling goes and the game was pretty cool. in a dark edging sort of way. but yay happy ending. amiright?

Keep in Mind is a game about your inner demons, you talk to each monster one by one and can piece somewhat of a story told through dialogue about how our protagonist, Jonas, got to where he is now.

Highly recommend if you have 20 minutes to spare and are in the mood for a short emotional journey! The game is a brief, yet direct, exploration of grief & guilt. I did find that the dialogues may over-explain just a bit, but it's still an effective piece of media. It will resonate with anyone who's been living with grief & guilt.
