I woke up today and beat up my grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt and a random child I found on the street. I infact threw a wrench so hard that the small unsuspecting child had stars floating above his head, his tounge was out and his eyes became googly. Anyhow, after commiting atrocious war crimes, I returned home and booted up my PC. That's when I found this amazing game. 10/10 would recommend, but I got a crazy sense of Deja Vu while playing... I played all the play tests, and outside of a few balancing issues, and occasional network problems, it's a really solid melee, R6 siege, protect your base style game... It's really fun with friends, and I have had some insanely comical moments solo. 7/10 execution on a 10/10 concept

So I had this game on wishlist ever since it was announced and I was honestly excited for early access to be released, I ended up buying it the exact same moment I got email that early access was released and I have to say first impression surprised me. It's really fun as I expected and I can see this game making it far especially because development team does care about feedback. They even added a button in game where it redirects you to site for feedback. Now for game features as of now there isn't much, you cannot really enter many tabs, so it's best to give this game some time as profile isn't available yet and finances has error upon trying to open it up. However if you do purchase it please make sure to set your region to your actual region in settings instead of having it set to "auto" as "auto" is a bit buggy and it puts you in a different region at the moment which makes it unplayable (I ended up leaving match because of that), not sure how often that happens but I thought it'd be worth noting in case someone experiences same difficulties. Overall this game has a lot of potential, and is absolutely satisfying to play it. I've laughed quite a bit in the first 10 minutes, hence I'm leaving this review so early. In case my opinion changes, I will be editing this post.

This is a really fun game. If you've been looking for a casual PvP game that has depth and intrinsically allows for a lot of varied playstyles, this is the game for you. Characters like Grandma and Chad allow for you to be a brawler, you'll mostly want to defend your property and help your team push off of eliminations. Characters like Kevin and Mary Jean will give you tools to supplement some really satisfying stealth gameplay. Tools like ladders, lockpicks, and even catapults will help push the possibilities of stealth gameplay even further. Starting out the game feels way more complex than it is, there's a lot of items and the game doesn't really do the best job at telling you how each functions and what its specific use is. But a lot of this complexity is simplified by just interacting with all these systems and getting comfortable with them. The ladder is a ladder. You can use it to get up higher pretty much anywhere in the map and can immediately pick it back up and take it with you. This item is really good on characters that want to be attacking enemy property a lot but lack mobility (IE not Kevin). The baseball launcher is a defensive turret with long range, this can be really good inside the house to defend specific objectives, but its also really good in your own yard where it can deter enemies fighting on your lawn, and keep certain characters from being able to sneak around. Put these in rooms with objectives, point them towards your front gate, or put them in the corners of your backyard up on the greenhouse and shed. This helps people sneaking backyard, or anyone attacking from your roof. Most the items function like this, they seem complex but really the most important information you'll want when picking stuff up for the first time is: 1) How does it function 2) What is its purpose 3) How much damage does it do to players 4) How much damage does it do to structures. There's a lot of information I'm leaving out here, most of it pertaining to my playstyle. But I will say this, there is a simple counter to pretty much everything in the game. If someone keeps getting in your house and you have no idea, pay attention, look around. You might need to barricade something up using wood planks or sound traps. You might need to put rakes and bear traps down on specific entrances. A lot of the satisfaction in this game is learning things for yourself, developing your own counters, and your own playstyle. The game has a decent amount of depth and while I think this can frustrate certain players and drive people away, its also the only thing that makes games like these worth playing. That progression and that continuous shifting of tools in your arsenal. Obviously there's some balancing issues here and there. The last 3 characters you unlock do suffer from drastically changing matches, almost too much in my opinion. But really I think the best way to enjoy this game is in a private lobby playing 3v3 with friends you know and that are at the same skill level as you. By default the game is 4v4, but in quick matches (the primary method of finding games) a decent player alone can stall the game for quite a long time. Teams will often have no real chance of winning just to start heavily defending last obj with defenses and bodies and this can unnecessarily drag games out. I do think they remedied this in the most recent playtest by putting 5 objectives in each property with the need to only destroy 4. Still, just some things to keep in mind. My experience in the playtest was extremely positive when I was playing against newer players and everyone was figuring everything out, however the game was significantly less fun the second most my lobbies were the same people over and over spamming, frankly, really cringey strats. Still, devs have shown they are open to feedback and have actively responded with balancing patches that match community sentiment, even if I personally disagree with some decisions. The best way to keep the game fun and refreshing is to ensure there's always new players and to be positive in game. There's VOIP between teams so you can really have fun with them and ensure they have an experience that doesn't make them wanna leave and never come back. Which I think will be very important for the more dedicated portion of the player base.
