Flawed, but still very good. + Has KataGo for a smart AI and nice analysis tools. Probably the most accessible KataGo GUI I've tried. + Runs perfectly on Linux via Proton. + The evolving elo / rank gives you a good measure of your progress. + Graphics are quite good compared to other Go games. The important thing here is pleasing colors and a sleek interface really. You really don't see much of these environments they showcase; your view is locked on the board and can't move, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. - At the end of the game, the board is blurred and it won't show you how territory is counted. You have to go into analysis and move to the final board state to see how the score actually worked in the end. - The analysis is decent, but I much prefer lichess's use of AI to fill a table and mark each move as good/mistake/error/blunder. JustGo uses some Monte Carlo method that changes the best move recommendation as you look at every board state, making it tough to study. - My PC fans fire up like crazy for this game. Probably the KataGo neural networks are cooking my GPU, but I've also run KataGo on mobile devices so idk. Haven't tested the connection to OGS yet. I wish I could play this implementation of Go on my iPad!

Best go game there is on Steam currently, including an actual career in leagues. The only drawback is that the difficulty in dan ranks is insanely artificial. The AI plays like it has strategy and understanding of the game of a 10kyu with the counting of a 9 dan. Other than that, this is an absolute must play, if you're into go.

The best way to play Go online. This reminds me of Taking lessons in the late 90s. It has a great career mode, you can choose the size of the board. The ambiance is good and calming, the sound effects are minimal, but they are well done. The AI has various levels based on your in-game rank, there are vs AI tournaments and a training mode. It even includes the ability to view various matches from elite professional players, which is an amazingly helpful tool in learning advanced techniques.

The main reason I purchased the game was because I heard good things about the tutorials. The tutorials in Just Go are fantastic. I've tried learning the game from multiple apps and none of them can explain the rules in a way that makes sense nor clarify why the rules function the way they do. Just Go takes the time to explain every concept, provide interactive examples, and does it in a way that makes sense. I now understand how the game works and the gameplay naturally allows me to evaluate my moves, and how to improve for the next game. Highly recommend!

Proper strategy game. Do some of the puzzles first to understand the basics and some strategies and then start the games. Try and finish them, even if it looks like you are losing.
