paste this into launch parameters for just cause for the highest quality experience in my opinion /windowed /width=1280 /height=960 windowed because the game will be stretched and ugly if fullscreen the 1280 x 960 part is to correct the developers oversight. Old games are 4:3 which is why they only have 4:3 resolutions to choose from. However there is one 5:4 resolution listed inside this games options that is 1280x1024. this might be a mistake because 1280x1024 is a 5:4 aspect ratio and will slightly stretch your game (you can test it with screenshots, with any proper 4:3 resolution your minimap circles will be perfect circles, but if you choose 1280x1024 they become slightly oblate, because the game is being slightly warped to fit the abnormal 5:4 aspect ratio) i googled it, the only reason 1280x1024 exists is because they were common in tv's in the early 2000s look on the wikipedia of screen resolutions, 1280x1024 is listed ALONE in the 5:4 category with no other resolutions, interesting. 1280x960 is a correct 4:3 resolution and im shocked its not included in the options. oh and did you know "just cause" does not mean just because? "She stopped traffic to save four puppies, i would say that was a just cause"

Just Born. I liked the repetitive quests, and with all the chaos engine, they are always different. This is a kind of game where you make the game. I like to travel around cleaning the map. It's a somewhat meditative activity. The older I get the more I enjoy these old games. About the cops, being used to their infinite spawn in JC 2, 3 & 4, I knew what to expect. The key is to give them hell, kill as much as you can, even if they keep spawning. That way you get infinite health and ammo. Eventually the chaos goes down. That is the game, destruction, chaos, and never stop moving and shooting. A great start indeed for a great saga. 6/10 - The start of the Avalanche.

Long before open-world games became ubiquitous, Just Cause stood out in 2006 for its focus on action-packed stuntwork. As Rico Rodriguez, a cross between Xander Cage and the Mariachi from Desperado, you'll fight to free the Caribbean nation of San Esperito from the dictator Salvador Mendoza. Right from the start, the story can be tossed aside as you get into the gameplay. With its mixture of third-person gunplay and driving, Just Cause's biggest claim to fame was its gargantuan setting that was even bigger than GTA San Andreas. The ability to skydive, base jump and leap between moving vehicles set it apart from other genre entries. With that said, the game runs into some problems along the way. The ground vehicles can feel very stiff at times and items like the grappling hook aren't put to very good use. In many ways, the original Just Cause is heavily limited by the technology of its time, something that was eventually rectified in future entries. Knowing what the series eventually turned into, the original Just Cause is mostly left as a minor curiosity, there's not much reason to play it when the superior sequels exist. If you do get into this title, you'll need to be patient and accept some highly inconsistent gameplay and lackluster side missions. You should only play it if you're curious to see how the series got started. My full retrospective on the Just Cause series can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/RgHa9RS_JTc?si=EEsrkccPapq-pDa4

Just Cause 1 is alright, If yoj are starting out with the series, go play something like Just Cause 2 or 3. The game hasnā€™t aged that well in terms of graphics and sometimes you will encounter gameplay bugs or visual glitches. it has amazing driving controls. However the regular player controls do have some getting used to. But in general, If you donā€™t mind graphics, the gameplay is really good. 8/10
