Tonight, we gon' uphold it in the game When Dredd Met Attenborough: A Hilarious Clash of Worlds Camera pans to a lush forest landscape, with the signature voice of David Attenborough narrating in the background] David Attenborough: Here in the vast and dangerous world of Mega-City One, there exists a creature unlike any other. Known for their fierce determination and unrelenting pursuit of justice, they are the enforcers of the law, the dreaded...Judge Dredd. [Cut to footage of Judge Dredd walking through the bustling city streets, dispensing justice with his trusty Lawgiver in hand] David Attenborough: This particular Judge Dredd, also known as 'the Lawman' or 'the Mean Machine,' has recently been pitted against a new foe...Death himself. And in this exciting new game, aptly titled 'Dredd vs Death,' players get to experience the thrilling world of Mega-City One through the eyes of Judge Dredd. [Cut to numerous clips of gameplay, showcasing Dredd's fighting skills and epic showdowns with Death] David Attenborough: From battling zombies, to tracking down the handiwork of a notorious vampire clan, this game has it all. But what truly sets it apart are the absurd arrests that can be made in the pursuit of justice. [Cut to a montage of comical and outrageous arrests made by Dredd in the game] David Attenborough: There's no crime too small for Judge Dredd. In fact, he has arrested a man for 'singing off-key,' 'using too much cologne,' and even 'having a bad haircut.' Now that's what I call taking the law to the extreme. [Cut to footage of Dredd using his Lawgiver to dispense justice on the streets] David Attenborough: And let's not forget the signature weapon of Judge Dredd, the Lawgiver. Capable of firing six different types of ammunition, including heat-seeking bullets and ricochet shots, it's the perfect tool for dealing with any threat that comes his way. [Cut to Dredd arresting a criminal with a deadpan expression] David Attenborough: But perhaps the most impressive thing about Judge Dredd is his unwavering commitment to the law. Even when faced with the most absurd and ridiculous situations, Dredd never falters in his pursuit of justice. [Cut to Dredd making a citizen arrest on a man for 'wearing socks with sandals'] David Attenborough: Oh, the humanity. [Camera pulls out to reveal Attenborough sitting on a tree branch, watching Dredd from a safe distance] David Attenborough: So there you have it, folks. 'Dredd vs Death,' a game that not only provides hours of action-packed entertainment, but also gives us a glimpse into the fascinating world of Judge Dredd and his eccentric arrests. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll stick to narrating from a safer distance. [Camera zooms out as Attenborough climbs higher up the tree, away from the chaos on the streets below] In Mega-City's chaos, where crime finds its breath, 🏙️ Dredd stands tall, dispensing justice like a Macbeth. ⚖️ With his scowl and his law, he's the perps' last breath, 😠 In "Dredd vs Death," he's the game's ultimate depth. 🎮 With a quip and a gavel, he'll bring foes to their knees, 💬 In Mega-City's madness, only Dredd truly sees. 👁️👮‍♂️

Short game but fun if you enjoy the comics. Always enjoyed graphics from this era and mega city one looks nice. Not too many enemy varieties. Mostly becomes a zombie shooter. After the horrors of the atomic wars redbull seems to be one of the only companies that survives, Dredd is clearly not a fan of the in game advertisement. "This rampant consumerism makes my skin crawl."

you can arrest people for being too fat, 10/10 In terms of a actual review Judge Dredd: DvD is a pretty decent game but it comes from a odd time where Devs seemed to have this obsession with giving you a bunch of toys but little ammo for them or letting you only use them in very specific circumstances. The lawgiver for instance, a gun you can change firemodes on at will. you don't get very many options with it due to ammo shortages and will find yourself making use of the various firearms bad guys drop for your taste of variety, a unique choice i guess but part of the schtick of Judge Dredd was always how the Lawgiver gave an answer for any situation but sacrifices for game balance i suppose. This isn't really a bad thing but i feel like it really limited one of the core experiences you'd want being a street judge. Presentation wise the game does a good job depicting mega city, at least when you're outside and get to experience it. Theres many a level with boring corridors and interior cells though not all are bad, the shopping mall for example is a shining exception. Gameplay wise its a straightforward shooter with some fun sub systems like the ability to analyze and judge civilians and perps and act accordingly to their crimes. If i had a big gripe it would probably be the crux of the story, i never liked Judge Death and his cronies in the comics. Found them a bit too mystical for what is otherwise a somewhat grounded (but very silly at times) setting with them having straight up ghost powers and such but as far as big bad evil guys to have as villains that stand out you can't really shoot much bigger than them. If theres any big issues with the game its dated controls and hardware compatibility issues which fortunately the steam release did try and alleviate but some still persist (namely odd NPC behaviors and getting stuck in or even falling through levels) but usually a reload of the level solves this...usually.

Recomended, but only for Dredd fans, who would like to visit Mega City 1, and be THE LAW. Otherwise It's a average shooter with an average story. It has some interesting ideas, such as the main weapon (Lawgiver), which has several types of ammunition available... of which I ended up using only two. The rest of them seemed more fancy than useful, and waste more ammo. The system for assessing our behavior as a Judge also seems interesting, but feels underdeveloped, and could provide more options. And it would be nice bonus if there was a mission or two, where we can ride on the Lawmaster. It's also really short. It's a pity, because there is potential in this franchise. Maybe if the studio behind the last Robocop gam got the license...?
