Its a "meh" for me, not good but not bad either (probably because I'm a fanboy of Keanu). Everything about this game looks half baked: vague/generic story, unpolished graphic, angles are cranky, despite being rtt game you can go random bullshit go most of the time, thus making it not that much of a strategy game.

Not in a thousand years would I pay full price for this game but its actually decently fun. The animations are really janky and kinda shit to be honest, there VA is great but no Keanu is sad, the combat is interesting at first but its just the same shit over and over again until the end, nothing interesting ever happens or changes with the combat. The story is told through comic-esque panels and it's fairly decent- Hex was a fun antagonist. The gunplay is fine although it largely consists of whether you want to crouch for more accuracy or not. There is some depth to the game but it really is quite shallow and you'll probably be playing it the same way from start to finish (because there is no other way lol) Music is great and it has a John Wick feel to it for sure but the game badly needs more polish in regards to animations- cool fighting is the key of John Wick (and really any action movie) and the animations are lackluster and severly lacking in diversity. The audio is also off, often you'll hear like 3-4 whacks on an animation of 2 strikes and similar. By all means this is one of the best worst games I've ever played and I would definitely recommend it at a huge sale (I got it at $2) cause 20 bucks for such a mess is not worth it at all, even if it's fun.

The game is an interesting and effective translation of how John operates during the many, MANY fight scenes in the movies. Enemies keep showing up and you must engage, takedown, reposition, repeat in any order. It doesn't get particularly complex (fortunately for me!) but it also doesn't outstay it's welcome. Great weekend pick.

Good strategy game with a great concept. The price might be a bit high for the scope of the game in my opinion, but if you like to fire up a part of your brain and have a few euros to spare, this might be easily your jazz. +Concept +The after-round fast recap +Easy but nice looking visuals (mainly cutscenes and so on) -Lack of overall settings -Didn't dig the storyline that much

When it comes to a JW video game experience, you'd think the film series' constant gunplay format would be ripe for it. However, the struggle quickly begins to show when you realize this endeavor could quickly become like any other third-person action shooter or rapidly devolve into a quicktime button-masher in order to recreate the epic gun-fu ballet dance you get to see when watching the movies. John Wick Hex is an attempt to balance these two sides of the fence for an experience that emulates the source material. The result is an ambitious attempt by Bithell Games' team, but is milquetoast at best in final production. The result is an overhead point-and-click turn-based strategy shooter that feels like it takes elements of Hitman Go, while still having more random features than a purely puzzle-focused outcome. The game is surprisingly difficult and punishing in regards to survival in different chapters without checkpoints, but tends to be more frustrating excessive trial-and-error instead of the pure joy you might be chasing from the movies. The graphical cinematics get depressingly tired quite fast, the story is thin and fills in a random chapter of John's previous life during his time as a younger assassin, and the gameplay is not much to write home about. Overall, if you are a hardcore fan and want to see arguably the best possible pitch at bringing the JW concept to life in playable format...you've got it right here. Wait for a sale and snap it up.
