Really great game. Upbeat and extremely fun soundtrack. High octane thrill ride and difficult challenge for even elite gamers. A few recommendations for the devs: On normal mode the final boss and penultimate boss need to be a lot tougher. Compared to Empress and the last level before those two they were baby-easy mode. Add an achievement for dunking an enemy in the water when they lock on to you before they charge at you.

There needs to be more arcade flight games like this, challenging gameplay with a generous assist menu for those that either want to achievement hunt or take things easy. I enjoyed the length of this game and the boss fights aside for the one that snipes you are pretty fun. The story is decent tho the ending felt rushed, buy full price.

What if Luftrausers had a (really good) story mode and just a lot more stuff in general? That would be this game, and it is _incredible_.

I'm not a very patient, or a very good, gamer. So a game that can pull me in and make even *me* feel skilled right off the bat, while still challenging me, is quite a nice find for me. Jet Lancer manages to balance a lot of things really well. It has *some* story and dialogue, but not too much; it's difficult, but not punishing; it starts you off with fun weapons, but doesn't make you feel over-powered. The comparisons others have made to Luftrausers are fair. One thing I find lacking in this game is a lack of sense of momentum. There isn't enough "stuff" in the background to give you some perspective for how fast you're going, or how far you've moved, or where you are in relation to earth and sky. But, for me, the pros outweigh the cons by a good margin.
