Wildfire is my first Jagged Alliance series that I played and boy, did I choose the wrong one to start with. It was cheap and it was turn-based so I bought it without doing research. It turns out that this game is JA2 vanilla with Steroids. Initially, I chose Experienced mode (because I think I'm a seasoned turn-based player?) but instead, my whole team of mercenaries (all prone) got wiped out on the first landing on enemy territory. My mercs are behaving like stormtroopers. They just love to miss. Then I switched to Easy mode. Even this, my mercs can't even hit an elephant at 5m away while the enemy can hit a prone merc at 10m away. Felt cheated after hiring such expensive mercs. Nevertheless, I will still recommend this game because it has quite a few nice QoL features that make this game less of a chore. The story is okay. It is about you being hired to lead a group of mercs to oust a female dictator (would you believe it...) of a tiny country which produces gold and silver ores. You know, a change of regime. This game is not for everyone except those who don't mind 'save and reload' repeatedly. Rating: 51%

I remember playing the original in c'99, on my Macbook with Windoze sim - it ran like sh!t. Enjoying it more this time around.
