No one knows about this game. But it’s probably my favorite dinosaur games out there. Crafted by just 2 dudes, this beauty is an entire Jurassic park basically. An abandoned Dino island with buildings and check points you can loot. Tyrannosaurus Rex is probably the scariest thing I’ve ran from on my treadmill in VR before. This game also supports full body tracking and you can kick dinosaurs while you shoot and swing Mel’s weapons at them. Great graphics too.

Considering how long the game had been in early access and it's part of the Viveport subscription service, I'm shocked this game never got more attention. Hunting and being hunted by dinosaurs is always fun, I don't care who you are. OK so let's get right to the point, is this game worth $25? I don't know about that, but if you find it on sale for even $20 you definitey should get it if you want to go to Jurassic Park in VR. It's the closest thing out there (Ark Park was a let down). There are three game modes. They consist of Mercenary (which is you being dropped off on an island - either a jungle or a beach) and you hunting down dinosaurs to earn currency for the survival mode. The longer you play the more dangerous it gets (there are day/night cycles) and the more risk/reward plays in. If you die you lose everything, however if you come back to the base camp you will keep your currency and can even save your items in the locker. The risk is though, if you come back too early you never get much loot or money and if you stay too long you may be a TRex snack. There is the typical wave shooter mode called Arcade. Basically it transports you to various parts of the environments and you shoot waves of dinosaurs before being transported somewhere else. This is mostly 180 degrees, but there are sometimes dinosaurs behind you. I would consider this a weak mode but it's fun for VR newbies. Finally there is the survival mode. This is kind of the heart of the game. Using the currency you earned from Mercenaries you should be able to get a few items to start with and you have to survive as long as possible with the dinosaurs on the island. This is both scary (being hunted) and funny as you eat dinosaurs to survive. You also will discover what happened to the inhabitants of the island but really that's a small part of the mode. There actually is a lot of content here and there are tons of options for everyone. You can use full locomotion, teleporting, or various hybrids of both. You also can up the difficulty (with higher rewards) or lower it depending on how sporting you want to be. On higher difficulties the game can actually be fairly scary. Audio wise it's nothing great but it gets the job done of convincing you that you're in a wild jungle filled with inhabitants. Graphics wise I feel that is the biggest letdown. I have the settings on epic (1070 gtx) and it still doesn't look great but at least the framerate is consistent. Honestly it's pretty ugly for the most part, reminding me of a budget PS2 game. That said you kind of just blow it off the first time you see the scale of a large dinosaur chasing you down and you're unloading everything you have on it. Pick it up if it's on sale. It's more exciting than Robinson The Journey (but uglier) and way better than Ark Park.

I shouldn't even be writing this reveiw as Island 359 is only halfway to having its full release, but for anyone thinking about purchasing this game now, you need to know a couple of things. Positives: -Unlike most other VR games, Island 359 has very simple controls in which you free roam around multiple maps. You can select which style of movement is most comfortable for you, and move smoothly through forests and rocky paths. -The graphics are outstanding for a VR game. -Excellent effort for all the textures, models created. -Realistic animations of the foliage swaying to the wind and dinosaurs being dinosaurs. -Very entertaining gameplay as how you are overwhelmed with where to go or what to do whenever. -The developers are very helpful and respectful, as if you find a bug they will always fix it for you. -Very good system where you can hear 360* surround sound, it is a very helpful feature during gameplay. -Lots of good mechanics to save progress and purchase (with in-game coins) items. Negatives: -There are occasional bugs here and there which you could lose progress, but like I said, the developers will always fix it for you. -It gets quite repetitive after about 30 minutes with all the running around and killing dinos, so don't play for more than 1 hour at a time. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who would like a incredible experience from a game in VR.

Clever gurl... or not. The game overall is pretty close to a full title and gives me great hope in things to come. Only thing I didn't like was the AI was the same and pretty easy overall. Graphics are really cool and the concept is really great. Definitely worth a buy!

THE VR GAME for me so far. Like being in an old Jurassic Park arcade game / film. Spent an hour on my first game, which for an action VR title is not the norm up to now. And just fun not exhausting like some are. Movement is easy, dinosaurs maybe also a bit too easy at the moment, but they act independently and can sneak up on you. Gun play is good. Graphics not as strong as the screenshots but good enough. No frame rate / sickness issues. Give it a go - you won't regret it. Not as polished as Raw Data but I enjoyed it much more so far. Well done to the devs for the most "fun" "normal" VR game I've played (and I've played almost all). More modes / missions asap pls.
