Comparing it to other Chilla's Art game, this one is average but solid, it's more about walking in night forest and abondoned tunnel. The feeling of someone's presence near you and mysterious narrative can you give you some creeps. The silence of a large space alternates with some sudden noises around you. But this one really must be played at night with the headphones. Otherwise, the experience would be poor.

Inunaki Tunnel is an infamous real life location surrounded by urban legends. Walking around the tunnel in a dark forest is a nice change of pace after the urban environments of the previous games. Unfortunately, it's fairly uneventful. I'm not asking for jumpscare galore, but eerie and creepy atmosphere alone can only carry a game so far. The adventure horror formula is further improved. Now there's 3 endings, and 2 of those require more effort than previously. This increases the playtime slightly, but it's still below an hour. The VHS filter is even more intense, unfortunately to the point that some people might find it obnoxious, or dizzying. Thankfully, it can be disabled.

it's alright, and for a game that breaks from the formula chilla's art games are otherwise known for it's pretty well done. the atmosphere is superb, and while it's really short, it has some moments of pure dread that actually emanate from the text file-equivalents you find laying around that have never really affected me in any of these other games. for 3 bucks it's definitely worth it, especially considering the replayability with secrets and alternate endings

This was one of the better entries into the Chilla’s Art library. The main issue I have with it is that you need to play the entire game three times in order to get all of the achievements, and this is an issue I’ve encountered in many Chilla’s Art titles. If you’ll bear with me for a minute, I’d like to mention one of my favourite VHS horror games of all time; Cookies by Stef Pinto. Cookies has ten different endings, and you need to replay the whole game ten times in order to get them all. So why is it an issue here and not in Cookies? Because in Cookies, no two endings have you doing anything even remotely the same. You can choose to go down one path to get one ending, then a different path to get another. In Chilla’s Art games, it’s more like ‘go down this path to get the first ending, then go down the same path again but collect a certain amount of items along the way to get the second’. It makes for a boring game that I don’t want to replay but still have to in order to get all of the achievements. I think if Chilla’s Art just dropped this linear design methodology and started working on more dynamic stories, it would result in their products becoming far more engaging. Also feel compelled to mention, as I’ve done with all of my other reviews, that being one of their early games, it comes with the issue of stuttering in new areas. Not as noticeable here as it is in other titles, but still something to be aware of.

As far as natural creepiness goes, Chilla's nailed it with this one. The overall ambiance of walking through the decrepit tunnel, the dark forest trails, and the dilapidated shrines makes you question if you're really alone with all the surrounding sounds. The added effect of having the facial recognition on the camera go off at random times definitely makes you feel like you're being watched constantly. As far as actual jump scares go, this game lacks in that department. You never feel like you have to escape an actual threat, which is it's one downfall. Not the best, but not the worst from the developer. Overall deserves a play if you want a short, creepy experience.
