When you compare this game to Spooky's House of Jumpscares - this one is more spooky but also crashes a lot (on purpose). It's like one of those games that immerse you more than just !@#45. Think of it as a meta game that changes every time you open it again - you will be surprised. Recommended for fans of pixelated horror games.

There is currently an issue with this game where Steam does not recognise that the game has closed, making you have to force close Steam, and reopen it every time you need to open it, which will be a lot. This doesn't cause any issues with the game itself, as it progresses like normal but it's quite annoying to deal with while playing. I mention this in the hope that the issue can be fixed sooner rather than later. In the meantime, if you encounter this problem, reinstall the game, and it might fix itself. With that major downside said, this game is a true classic. It's one of, if not the original "pixelated style" horror game, and one of the first I ever saw to utilise fourth-wall breaks, and file management as a major gameplay mechanic. It's an insane trip that I implore anyone who's into horror, or ARGs in general to play, if they have not already.

A seriously underrated meta-horror game. The game stands out due to its cool and unique puzzles that require you to think outside the game to progress, and they don't use repetitive mechanics for puzzles. As for the horror aspect, the game does a good job on making the ambiance and atmosphere creep you out. The game also doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares. I highly recommend playing this game, 10/10.

Ill open this review with I have never been much of a horror game guy, mainly because for the longest time i was too scared too, or I had already watched someone else play the game on YouTube 6 months before i got the chance to buy it. This game was the exception (sort of), I had watched YuB play this when i was like 10, and i had absolutely forgotten everything. I had booted the game up with a friend that had already played, so i didn't have to struggle too much with puzzles or anything, which definitely made it a little bit more beginner friendly, but besides that this game was the perfect mixture of somewhat frustrating, eerie, mind numbing, yet easy ever. i wont get into the story in case someone sees this before buying, and i don't quite get it entirely, but from what ive heard no one does either, which this game does very well. its all up for interpretation. this game has the absolute best 4th wall breaks ive ever seen in a videogame, which is very hard to pull off considering a lot of other games do it very well, however, most games just jump-scare you and say your name and address. this game does none of that, it uses your computer not just to scare you, but to mess with your head. Ivan Zanotti really lived up to his word, you can really do a lot with just a little, and i hope to see more IMSCARED at some point. 10/10, if you are thinking of buying this, do it. this is easily one of the best games ive ever played.
