I'd give it a go at a discounted price. What it does well: - Atmosphere - Art style - Melding of genres - Unique factions - Good mechanics What it needs to lean into more: - Content and play modes, replayability depreciates quickly. - Game balance and AI - Writing, a simple plot can be just fun as long as the story keeps rolling along. The bad: - Difficulty is less a curve and more like wild spikes and crashes, it's just all over the place. - Randomization can bring a brand new game to an abrupt end with some simple bad luck. - There's a handful of dominant strategies and everything else is pretty weak. Overall, it feels more like a board game that got converted to a video game. There's a lot to like and love, but it requires patience, and it's biggest detriment is that there's just not enough of the game to explore.

As a big fan of the vampire lore I must say that this game is great! What better than a bunch of vampires fighting each other? The units design, the atmosphere, and the gameplay are really good. The storyline of the campaign is cool. If you like turn-based games with badass undead, vampires, ghouls and bats then you should try this one out.

Absolutely *killer* grid-based, turn-based combat in this one with some twists and good AI that make it a pure joy to take part in! Hard to exactly judge things off the first Campaign, which doesn't have all the features activated as you play it, but still gives a very promising preview of what's to come with the game's included other 3 Campaigns (which gradually raise up the difficulty and add new features in each one, presumably.) Very cool SRPG, definitely recommend it for fans of Fallen Enchantress, Master Of Magic and games like that!

Only gripes i have are that after playing for a while the graphics start flickering big time and only way to sort it is to quit game to desktop and re-start.I also came close to a not recommend due to how hard game is to progress,but after trying a different approach all good so far.

I've only played the sandbox part of this game but, I've enjoyed it so far. It's unfortunate that the developers stopped supporting it but, I've had no issues running it on my older gaming laptop. My only complaint is late game is fairly monotonous. I'd recommend getting it on sale because the current $30 is too expensive for this game unless more content is added.
