I wish there was just a single player mode where I could create my own character. However, the game is cute. Pretty straight forward in controls. I really enjoy the world they've created for this game. I hope they'll keep updating and expanding.

I like this game, but I feel like I'm missing half of it. Like it asks you to activate 15 staues...but there's only 13 in the game. Or destroy 4 spawn spots...but there's only 2 on the entire map. Am I missing something or is this game just not finished? It's enjoyable but it definitely feels like a game still in beta. Worth getting if it's on sale. I don't regret buying it full price, but I'd probably think twice about it knowing what I do now. :/

**** Edit **** I would turn this review to neutral if I could. Although all the mechanics and perks of the game are still there, lovely and wonderful, I am very disappointed with path 1.5. On the plus side the map became a bit more interesting and the pet handling was improved so much if anyone still has an issue with it, they must be the problem. On the down side, frogs texts are not all updated to match the new map and quests. So what? Well this update is SAVE-GAME BREAKING. Although you can reload an old save-game, with all the changes including to the map layout I ended up with many decorations unreachable or sitting at much odd place including under rocks ans trees. Fine I like the ride, so I started from scratch, just to realize that the old bugs that kill the late game experiences are all still there or worst. Yes the region staring system is improved , now you know exactly what is expected of you, but there is no point doing it you won't get full start although you've completed it all. At least before you could make it. With luck and guess but you could now... not. Not to mention the map that still displays landmarks I cleared in game weeks ago. Maybe the issues are linked, maybe not but it's frustrating. For a major update I was expecting some serious better testing. **** Edit **** This game is great in all aspects, and most negative comments make a huge deal of some smaller annoyance more than anything. Take animal handling, you only have 3 different type of task to keep them happy and more or less will need one or two per day. How difficult is this? Well you need to do it when the pet wants it and yes to see what it wants takes 2 push of the E letter. An icon over the head of the animal would be much easier, but that's still far from a game breaker. Finding recipes, items or npc, yes can be a bit of random luck, but that's the whole point of an exploration game. I just wish I could annotate the map to remember where I was blocked by something I can't deal with yet. No quest tracker, oh seriously? All quests are 100% about exploring (did you really expect a tracker?!) or bringing the right amount of material for which there IS a tracker. And if you don't like back and forth to bring the goods, you can use some housing as a teleportation device. Really this game is a gem in it's genre. But clearly if you don't want to explore, craft, farm and use your imagination, don't even try.

Completely game breaking bugs. Played 3 hours, saved and logged off. Got back on the next day, the items in my inventory are there still, the quest progression saved, but nothing else. All areas previously unlocked are now blocked, the buildings I crafted are all gone. Everything I left in those buildings is gone. Waste of time. Edit: Oscar contacted me and explained that this was due to the update. My save somehow got more affected than most but he told me where all my missing items may be located. I may just start again though as they assured me this wasn't a common issue and some of the beginning stuff was changed, causing my issues. I haven't had time to really dive into the update but Oscar was incredibly quick with the help so I don't want my review to hamper the overall score at the moment. They also compensated me with DLC codes, which I'm incredibly grateful for. All of that help was within 6 hours of posting my review here. Absolutely incredible response from this team.

Be a squid boy with wiggly arms. Cycle through your inventory and watch the squid boy hold frogs and shells. Explore, tame pets, become pets. Outsmart piggy pirates (EZ). Bow to Overlord Frog Boy. I like this game.
