Idle Manager is an excellent game that draws you in with its surprising depth and addictive mechanics. It’s a slippery slope that makes you genuinely care about the hard work behind idol performances and the intricacies of idol culture. For the value of what you are receiving the gameplay is exceptionally engaging. Getting these bitches to stop bullying each other is stressful, while managing a fickle money situation. Just a warning: once you start playing, it’s hard to stop, and you might find yourself fully immersed in this captivating world. Bro's my relationship is taking a strain but I’m off to buy a ticket to Ano-Chan's performance in Japan. I wasn't into Idols until this game.

I’ve been watching videos of this game for quite a long time, but just recently I could actually play it. What I experienced is not much different from what I observed in these videos. It’s a great game, I love it! But there’s still a huge space for improvement that could be implemented with updates or even a sequence, which I believe is the best option. Anyway, I’ll list some points that, personally, would be great additions to the game. 1 - More center options: double center is already an existing thing in real life, the lack of an option to make them in game really surprised me. Also, although the game is based on groups like AKB48 and Nogizaka46, it would be nice to make a song with no centers at all. 2 - Roles distribution: complementing the last thing I said on the last topic, if the player chose to not having a center in that song, they would have to choose how much of that song is going to be sang by each member and how important each one is for the choreography just as how happens in groups with no mandatory center position, like Morning Musume, Angerme, and kpop ones of course. This distribution would affect fans opinions - if an idol who doesn’t have good singing skills compared to others sing the biggest part of this song, fans will not like it so much, but this could be avoided if this idol has a lot of fans, have a good opinion of the public, or if she has other good attributes (if she’s pretty or funny). 3 - More complex PVs: I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed when I saw the options regarded video clips. I expected being able to choose location, outfit style, director, concept, budget… Even if my expectations weren’t fulfilled, I do understand that I wanted something very complex, so I won’t complain much, but I bet the things I pointed would make the game more fun. 4 - More media options: Something that doesn’t make much sense to me is how media works. Why is it so hard to make fans like it? Why can’t I choose how many episodes a drama is going to have? Another good option could be the productions of movies and documentaries, they could work like singles, you launch one time, idols lost some stamina, and you get their outcome. 5 - Singles’ copies left behind: Not selling every single copy of a single is, indeed, a burden, so why can’t we sell the rest afterward? I understand that it makes things easier when we see the sales result as soon as we launch a single, but wouldn’t it be more exciting to see the sales number rising each day? 6 - Albums: Talking about singles, albums would make a lot of sense to be added to the game. The process could be similar to the concept song choosing, but idols wouldn’t lose as much stamina during this activity. 7 - Foreigner idols: Pretty obvious. It is not as common in jpop as it is in kpop, but when it happens, they tend to respect their uniqueness. I can easily identify a Filipino or a hafu inside a jpop group, but sometimes is hard to distinguish when it comes to kpop groups due to the beauty standard of Korea. By the way, there are plenty of black jpop idols. So, I don’t see reason to not adding a small chance of finding a foreign idol during auditions. This could even expand the sub stories possibilities. 8 - Nonrotating groups: They could work as an independent group or as a subunit, just as AKB ones. Instead of having graduation, they would just disband at once, making you lose a lot of fans, but they are also more easily to get them. 9 - kenkyuusei: Add the option of recruiting people as trainees. They basically train and don’t receive money to that, so it’s like an investment for the future. 10 - Generations: Rotating groups are divided into generations, so why not add this feature? It would either automatically set the members who joined the group at a similar timing, or the player themselves would choose it. This could affect relations within the group, since now it’s easier to know who are the seniors and the newbies. 11- Coupling song: Why launching only one song per single when you can launch two? It can be a normal song just like the main one, but the player could also produce special tracks for a specific generation, a solo song or use it as a chance to promote the idols who aren’t participating in the main song. I know my English may not be perfect, but please consider what I said. I’m sure plenty of people have the same opinion of me. We absolutely love Idol Manager, that’s why we want it to grow not only in fan base, but also in completion and quality.

Edit: The developers wrote a story for this game, but I was too busy questioning my own morality to pay attention to it all that much. Something about a rival idol agency, which after a brief introduction mostly went into the background for me. *"black company" is term used in Japan referring to businesses which overwork and disregard the needs of their employees, resulting in a significant impact on the affected people's personal lives.

Overall a fun little game, but in contrast to other people I found the "getting money" challenge rather easy. Just take it slow and you'll be safe soon enough (moneywise at least) Downside for me is that after about 10 hours it will become repetitive and less interesting. For me it's a 7/10 enjoyable, but you should wait until its on sale

Tips in beating the game: Pay the idols minimum wage, have multiple clinics for their depressing wage, hire all the girls regardless of their stats, Vtubers pay better, build the stage for your live show. Done!
