This dang game got good once I wrapped my peanut sized brain around how to promote and make money early on in the game. I kept going bankrupt when I got this game so I legit didn't play it for 4 years [after playing it in covid isolation when i was sick as a dog in 2021] but now I picked it back up I'm very far into the game now and it's super fun! I just do the business sim stuff so I don't delve in the whole idol flirting stuff bc it makes me a bit uncomfy imo especially since some of the idols are young, that ain't my jam but I'm glad there's an option to just avoid that ♥♥♥♥. The one thing that gets on my tits too is the fact my idols keep getting bullied and I can never get them to admit it so I can influence them to stop lmao but I think that's just a skill issue on my end :') Overall good way to waste 12 hours of your day in one go. :))

Rating: "Good, but..." Idol Manager is a simulation game where you recruit girls to be Idols, create a group for them and manage their success with the help of a staff. The staff is also hired by you, in fact the amount of responsibility and management in this game should be overwhelming but its displayed in such a way and fed to a piece at a time, so its not. The UI and menus are intuitive easy to navigate, and understand. The music while redundant, is pleasant and fits the game well. I couldn't put it down for a week its addictive game play and rewarding management had me hooked for some time. But I DO like sim games. For some others it might be a bit too... envolved. While this title barely qualifies as an "Ecchi" game in my opinion, I'm reviewing it cause I feel it manages to eek across the line... only barely. With the R18/NFSW patch (found in the Steam Workshop or on the developer's website) you can add spicy content (not much but some) that organically fit into the story and your relationships with the various idols. The workshop also has a plethora of wonderful mods to tailor the experience to you and what you want out of it. Sexier idols, famous anime characters as idols, new outfits as well as a mod (that requires a tiny bit of legwork offsite) that will add entire NFSW capabilities and game play elements. Even without mods though, whats here will keep anyone into sims busy for hours. You can manage everything from salaries to if the girls are allowed to date. You have them perform (don't see any actual performances), build facilities for them to use, "style" them, chat with them, create hit singles and compete in award shows... and much more. There are light visual novel elements mixed in, a pretty good story that progresses over the long campaign and you can even make more than one idol group once your a big enough company. I highly recommend this even though I would of appreciated more spicy content and more actual artwork during events and scenes. The game play is repetitive, yes but its a sim game and this is to be expected. I did find the learning curve a little rough, even after watching all the tutorials. It was hard for me to not continuously be facing bankruptcy in this without looking up a few things that gave me a great head start. A good game for anyone into sims with a healthy affection for high pitched anime girls 😊. The community saves this game. Basically this is the revolutionary idol agency management game of all times. However the development has stopped after the release with several fixes, but there is always a community where things can be fixed without developers, or adding new contents (including some erm, you know about that) Tho would be cool if there was one more major upgrade or sequel of the game. This game has so many potential for improvement.

I keep coming back to this game - it's just that fun. It can be tricky to figure out how to make money at first, but that is usually because people try to hire too many idols in the beginning and grow too quickly. The story was way more engaging and interesting than I had anticipated. I feel like there were a few story lines that didn't quite resolve - but maybe that's because I had to choose a different character path. Worth going back to to figure that out. My only complaint is that there needs to be more customization for the girls! I would purchase a DLC that adds more character sprites, more hairstyles/colors, costumes and accessories in a heartbeat. Maybe add grad singles and concerts too. I need my idols to go out BIG. Actually, why stop there? Lets see which girls sells the most concert merch, sells the most copies of her photo book? Ok, maybe we need an Idol Manager 2 :)
