This game is a beautiful and gorgeous psychedelic adventure with retro graphics. There are 12 surreal worlds to explore, each with its own unique style, with many interesting environments and characters. This game has a warm inviting nature in which you help eccentric characters, explore dreamy environments, and solve puzzles. Lots of FPS platforming and jumping in this game, there is no fighting or shooting enemies. The game starts off slow, but after an hour or so it really brings you in to its world, excellent atmosphere throughout. The levels get better and more unique during the last half of the game. + The developer handcrafted this game with care and it shows. All the character models and landscapes are original. + All the music is original and amazing. From soothing jazz, ambient, vaporwave, each track fits the environment it is in perfectly. + The dream worlds range from deep in the jungle, underground caves, surreal wateresque landscapes, inside futuristic spaceships, haunted houses, and my personal favorite: liminal space shopping malls / backrooms. + A few of the psychedelic effects on several of the later levels were super trippy, sometimes I just stood in awe for a few minutes and watched the crazy effects. + Whenever you fail and fall into the abyss during a platforming section, the game puts you back right where you fell. This really helped creating a stress free gaming experience, which is what this game is mainly about. + After beating the game there is a developer's commentary unlocked throughout all the worlds. These were actually very informative and interesting to read through. + The story is simply yet refreshing, to be honest it was bit heart warming. + Well balanced puzzle difficulty. + A massive plethora of secret areas to uncover. - PROTIP: You must must turn ON the AUTORUN button in the menu to help your jumping ability. You jump farther when autorunning. I spent 15 minutes trying to jump the first platform and failing because I could not jump when running, ie. the keyboard does not let you jump while holding the run button manually. This was super annoying. - Some of the achievements did not pop when I know 100% I completed the requirements, game is bugged. - Some people may not like the retro graphic style. Please make a total remake with a bigger budget graphics engine! Great game for lowering blood pressure. Overall: 9 / 10

Hypnagogia Boundless Dreams is a stunning exploration focused game through multiple unique worlds all with their own subplots. While a simple premise, every world is executed perfectly and they all stand out on their own as memorable miniature adventures. Most of the gameplay involves simply walking around and occasionally interacting with NPCs or objects in the world, but the sheer number of different worlds to immerse yourself in and explore far makes up for that. Highly recommend it if you're a fan of environmentally focused games that intend you to simply explore and enjoy the view.

I loved going through each level (especially the secret ones) and getting such unique experiences and vibes from each. This game is still stuck in my brain rattling around even though it's been two years since I last played it. Crazy to feel so nostalgic about this game as if I knew it from childhood, but it just hit all the notes for me. I was still waiting for a potential update as teased before, but if this review can help start production on whole third one... Yesss pleeeaase, I will be buying it ASAP :)

Most of the dream worlds are really good, with only a few that lag behind in originality and beauty (i didnt like the haunted mall and felt like it didnt rlly have a second layer of interest, whereas the other areas felt unique enough and surreal enough to be fun to explore. Then again, I dont like liminal space type stuff that much, so to someone who that appeals to, im sure the haunted mall is a more enjoyable stage. Favorite level was the snake/water temple, which felt like a bryce 3d render come to life.
