Great 2D action game. A lot of things done right which is suprising for indie. Devs really polished combat and squeezed everything out of 2D level design. I wouldn't say its very difficult but gameplay is not mind-numbling like in most of games like this. jiggling anime tids are present.

In the beggining the controls felt a bit clunky, but after a while I got used to them. The progression feels nice and since the map fills up while you explore you never get completely lost.

It's alright, nothing to write home about. It blatantly copies souls game mechanics but at least they were intelligent enough to make the gameplay snappy, so it's not one of those horrible metroidvanias with heavy controls.

I love the control of this game. It is solid and satisfying when hitting an enemy, especially when you are familiar with the controls and your ability. The graphic doesn't match Bloodstain, Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies, or Ori the Blind Forest. But the fun is there to keep grinding with addictiveness. For me, I think this game is less floated than Ender Lilies.

This game is neat little hidden gem, It doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary, but its executed fairly well. Fair warning, do not come into this expecting Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies, or any other popular and re-known Metroidvanias, as this game struggles to reach those heights. But if you have that itch to play a game of the genre, its a game to buy on sale. HunterX blends MetroidVania and SoulsBorne games fairly nicely. You gain Karma (souls) from defeating enemies and you can use it to either purchase items, upgrade weapons, upgrade spells or level up stats. one of my biggest gripes about this game is that upgrading weapons/spells is virtually pointless, The game will throw stronger and better weapons/spells, so wait until end game to upgrade. When you level up your stats, you will also receive a point to use in a skill tree that expands as you gain more abilities, As you acquire more skills the game play comes together, which in someways bothers me and others not. Upon beginning the game, I found it to be very sluggish, it wasn't until i sunk a few levels to upgrade the skill tree where the game play began to feel serviceable. I wont lie, at the beginning of the game, it feels very sluggish. The MV map is your standard stuff, looping paths, locked gates to open from the other side, treasures, areas you cant quite get to until you unlock that next abilities, save points, and a portal here and there so you can comeback to collect the stuff you couldnt reach before. There are a few points in the game where you can sequence break if you time your jumps, airdash, and charge attack correctly to get places you shouldn't be able to until later in the game. when i went to area I was SUPPOSED to go to, i was pretty over leveled for that spot and ended up steam rolling that area, There are certain areas that require an interactive puzzle to solve to proceed. they're not mind boggling mind you, I got through the first two puzzles figuring them out naturally until I realized the game actually gives items that give you hints on how to solve them. The story. ****Spoilers**** things just kinda happen... I can tell you that i really dont know what was going on, some sort of gate opens causing an apocalyptic type event, you character, Tsuki goes in to deal with it, and along the way she meets people to help her, and fights demons until its over, some guy got possessed i guess and is doing bad things, beat the bad guy, yay world saved! Tsuki also has this demon companion that gives you hints from time to time, no idea why its there or who it is. so yeah, buy it on sale, there is some fun to be had with it
