You start off playing as Tabby, sister to Melody who you play as in chapter 2 trying to survive and escape your haunted house. You will do this by using certain objects in certain orders throughout certain rooms in the house while slowly learning about the spectral inhabitants. It's not a difficult game per se. It's just infuriatingly tricky to get everything in the right order, at the right time, considering any/all variables that are likely to occur. At least for me it was. Once you understand what to do and can see a clear path, it's just a matter of doing it. For whatever godforsaken reason I became fixated on getting all achievements and in the process I fell victim to numerous cheap deaths - this house is trying to kill you and it will succeed, merrily, if you aren't paying attention. That said, some achievements are just tauntingly tedious. This may deeply frustrate some players looking to see all content & endings and grab all trophies. There is a kind of candy shop morbidity to House. It's a difficult one to recommend and won't be everyone's cup of tea. I give it a thumbs up because I legitimately enjoyed the dark twisted familial tale of secrets and apparitions, as well as the pixel art, BGM/SFX, and overall vibe, despite any/all frustrations. Also, getting there without use of a guide at *some* point is beyond me. The particular order and sequence of what is wanted from the player is so obscure. I just wish it were slightly less. I'll admit, though, I became oddly captivated by this strange place with its strange inhabitants. I'll also never look at a bowling ball the same way again. I did not run into any bugs during my playthrough. Ran perfectly on Steam Deck. Recommend on sale especially if you're on the fence. You'll know within the return window if it's for you or not.

Achievement Completion: 100% House is a pixel puzzle adventure/puzzle game where mistakes could end fatally and death is merely another chance to try again. With a whole house that is seemingly out to get you in both its residents and furniture, evading it all will allow you to get a glimpse into the possibility of the true nature of the house and a potential way out of a vicious cycle. This game is great and has its own unique charm with its characters as well as requiring a fair bit of thinking and trial and error gameplay. The puzzles themselves aren't too difficult but I imagine people will inevitably get stuck at some point or another. There is no doubt danger in every room so the player is likely always to be on their toes in every single attempt. Protect Marty at all costs.

Doesn't have jump scares really, which is good. A game should be scary without being surprising. I'm looking forward to House 2 in the future!

I absolutely love this game, the music and art style really pulls you into the unique story line. I enjoy the multitude of endings directed from your actions, it really adds a realistic horrifying factor to the game for me. I am truly looking forward to playing the upcoming sequel to this game.
