With its VHS-era aesthetics and random enemy behavior, each level becomes a savage puzzle. The pixelated carnage? A relentless, stylish massacre that leaves your nerves frayed and your fingers itching for more.

What GTA does well, so does Hotline Miami, in other words a life at the brink of the law but keeping friendship as the most important value. Be ready to visit places you are not welcomed to during the 80's power struggle between the most notorious gangs in Miami. Gladly the developers provided you with a beautiful house to rest between all the chaos...I mean missions... If you want to practice your reaction speed, look no further too! Pros -» Gameplay: Playing with a keyboard and mouse rarely feels so satisfying. You have bats, swords, shotguns, machine guns...and they all feel wonderful when you mostly need -» Soundtrack and sound effects: Good bgm's but what seems to stand out are the sound effects -» Graphics: Top-down... bringing flashbacks from the time I rented "Crackdown" on the Sega Genesis -» Bosses: Few but very fun to play against -» Replayability: It is a good challenge to try and clear the game for a second time using half the attempts...you will understand. -» Difficulty: Respectable if you are a 1CC fan Cons -» You don't have a dog or a cat when chilling at home SUMMARY: 8.8/10 gaming scale Disclosure: After clearing the main campaign and as I comeback for new sessions or new updates arise by developers, I intend to keep revising this review

Hotline Miami is a top-down action/shooter game whose story is set in an alternate Miami in 1989, where the player takes on the role of a man receiving bizarre instructions on his answering machine, leading him to commit violent acts. As the plot unfolds, you'll find yourself questioning reality, morality, and your own sanity. The gameplay is a dance of death. You’ll die, respawn, and die again, but it never feels cruel. Each floor becomes a puzzle to solve, a ballet of violence where precision matters. The overhead perspective lets you plan your moves strategically. The game's soundtrack deserves its own praise. A pulsing mix of synthwave and electronica perfectly complements the neon-drenched visuals and the hyper-violence. Tracks like "Mizzuki" and "Perturbator" are instant classics, adding an undeniable energy to the gameplay. If you're looking for a challenge, a game that will test your reflexes and reward mastery, then Hotline Miami is a must-play. Just be prepared to get addicted to its brutal ballet of violence and its unforgettable synthwave soundtrack.
