I'm a bit torn on this one. It has many well-paced emotional segments that almost drove me to tears, but the conherence and quality of the storytelling vary dramatically throughout different parts of the story. I guess a way to enjoy the story more is not expecting this to be a romance story, but instead a story about "light" (for lack of better terms), about emotional intelligence, and about the meaning of family. The story actually shines in these non-romance departments. Hoshimemo is a heartwarming story with splended production quality and atmosphere, with a bit of supernatural element. The music is seriously good here. This actually reads, looks, and sounds like a typical Yuzusoft moege, with a bit more overarching melodrama, half the amount of sugar, and also way more than double the amount of suspension of disbelief needed. Character-wise, most characters are pretty fleshed out but are also extraordinarily terrible at communicating, yet so much of the plot in some routes depends on miscommunication and teenager angsty... To be honest, I almost dropped this title after finishing my first route, Minahoshi Asuho's. The chemistry is terrible, and the development and resolution have fairly bad pacing. However, my next route, Hisakaki Komomo's, is pretty good. It has solid chemistry development, intertwining well with the unraveling of a supernatural mystery. The immersiveness of the mystery part is also quite good. Like, the story is kind of obvious, with some small twists dropped here and there, but I still enjoyed it. On the technical side, the HD version has an uncompromisingly huge window size and uncompromisingly tiny font, which makes it hard to read without a big monitor that can handle the HDness. I recommend getting familiar with Windows Magnifier tool to assist reading (Windows 10's magnifier can be set to only magnify a part of the screen).

I only bought this VN because it was cheap and I saw that it had an absurd long playtime on vndb, I didn't really have high expectations for it and boy was I wrong. The story was really good and the artwork in this game was beautiful especially in Aoi's route and Yume's Route . you have to play all the routes to unlock the ''True Heroine'' considering the length of the routes in this game, your really gonna be in for a long ride. Some complaints that I have is the drama felt forced especially with Asuho and Aoi it was really hard to read because of how stupid the drama was but it was worth it since the True route was so good, also the game not having a ''skip to next choice option'' really ticked me off because you would literally have to restart everytime you switch to a new route. Overall this was a nice VN I give it a 7/10, the premise of chasing a childhood girl really hooked me into the game I just had to finish all the routes even if I didn't like it just so I can play the True route. Yume best girl

That was such a great game! The story is incredibly deep and touching. The game takes a long time to complete (around 50 hours if you're not slow like me). It had a somewhat slow pace on some parts but it makes sense when reading. I'd highly recommend to play every routes since you basically need to read all of them to understand the whole story. Only 3 characters out of 7 have their route unlocked from the start, here is a link if you want to keep track of each choice outcome : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1202978299 The HD version we got a few months ago is a big plus, I personally like the original BGM more though. I'll probably play the sequel in the near future. Anyway I can only recommend you this game :D

Origins Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish Upon a Shooting Star- is a Visual Novel originally released in 2009 by Favorite. The HD version was released on 2019 and english translated released at Steam on 2023. I have play this before on my older PC but I want to play with HD release. To enjoy the story of the visual novel. Plot Short story, the protaganist, Kogasaka You and his sister back to hometown due their mother passes away, and then he encounters a mysterious scythe-wielding girl named Mare on his way to lookout. And so the mysterious girl took something precious from You. Is he able to find what he lose? Find out by playing the Visual Novel. My Say I glad waited for HD release. Like I say before, I have played before but not the HD version. The scenario of the plot is quite good, though it’s not the best ever. But, it’s a slice of life, so it’s not going to be as good as something like Muv-Luv Alternative or Ace Attorney. The scenario is still quite good for a slice of life. A lot of people dislike the dramatic moments, but I actually liked them. It varies with the route, but it usually very good. If you want a fairly good visual novel that won’t take too long to play, I recommend you play it. Especially if you like slice-of-life genre.
