Nice puzzle-game that is easy to understand yet hard to complete due to the complexity of the later puzzles. I like the sound-design, too. The only thing that can be a little bit too frustrating is that puzzles reset if you reach a limit of wrong moves. It's a nice idea for an optional feature if you want some advanced difficulty, but applied as a regular part of the puzzle, it can be a bit frustrating, especially if you have to try out different ways to understand a puzzle, only to reset it over and over again, which ruins the fun.

Absolutely love the 'order of operations' puzzles, especially in late-game, rotating 3D puzzles. I found the circuit-like mid-game puzzles to be the most challenging, but totally enjoyed the entire Hook 2 game - Start to Finish. It picks up where the original Hook left off, and adds a higher degree of complexity that you will appreciate. EZ single Achievement for completing all levels, and TCs drop before the game is complete. Recommended - Cheers

Cool game and a good extension of the first game. Quite decent for the price, even out of sale I would say. It can get a bit tangled in 3d, but I rotated the puzzles and broke them up into smaller chunks mentally and it was fine this way. I can also see why it wouldn't highlight lines because this could undermine some other aspects of the game. Strangely you get the achievement for beating all levels when you first load into the last level rather than beating it, but this doesn't really matter.

Hook 2 , as with every other games from Maciej Targoni , achieves taking a simple concept or idea and making something unique and enjoyable out of it. The mechanics of the game are intuitive, and each time a new mechanic is introduced, it is done in a clear, clever, and understandable manner. The levels slowly increase in difficulty — more than with some of his other games — yet they remain within a casual range, without becoming too dauntingly complexe or time consuming to solve. The visual aestethics of the game are clean, minimalistic, and of high quality. The light/dark mode is an extremely valuable feature. The sound design of the game is excellent, and creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Hook 2 expands on the already well established mechanics of Hook , while adding an entirely new dimension to the game, effectively extending the experience and introducing new and enjoyable content. Hook 2 is overall a high quality, unique, and enjoyable puzzle game, and remains one of my favorites in terms of gameplay, sounds and visuals amongst the games from Maciej Targoni .

This review is specially made for those who like to get all the achievements in games (minor spoilers ahead). Description: Hook 2 is a short puzzle game that keeps the same gameplay of the previous game where you need to remove entangled pieces in the right order, by observing the object and finding what piece has to be removed first and following the lines to see what button needs to be activated. This new game expands that concept adding new gameplay mechanics and one of them is turning the previous 2D game into a 3D one, where you need to rotate the object to be able to see it fully and solve it. The game keeps the same clean, minimalist look as the previous game, which looks amazing in my opinion, and in general, it’s easy to read the game elements like switches and buttons, but in the final levels the abundance of lines can make it confusing, but I guess that’s just the difficulty increasing. There is a dark mode apparently, but I didn’t even notice it. The music is relaxing and soothing and doesn’t interfere with the puzzle solving. The levels get increasingly complex but I’d say the first half is a cake walk where most puzzles can be solved within just a few seconds without making any mistakes. Later, the complexity increases and there are move lines, objects and switches and each puzzle needs to be observed carefully. Still, the amount of retries given is generous so you’ll rarely have to restart completely. Achievements: How many: 1 Achievements. How much time: 1 hour Game difficulty: Easy. Achievements’ Difficulty: Easy. You only need to complete all the 90+ levels. Overall opinion: Hook 2 is a short puzzle game that improves and expands the mechanics of the previous game, turning it into a 3D game with far more complex and challenging levels.
