I have 50 hours in this game because I leave it on my monitor so I can pretend Mr. Crawling is sleeping in my bed with me at night. 10/10 game

I've only had Mr Crawling for an hour but if anything happened to him I WOULD KILL EVERYONE IN THIS ROOM AND THEN MYSELF- The atmosphere is top notch spooky and while there are some jumpscares throughout the game, the scary factor falls off fairly quickly as you get to know (and love) all the characters. The gameplay is really refreshing as you try to guess what the characters are trying to tell you using context clues. Bless Mr Silvair and Mr Crawling for teaching us so much they are so sweet. I didn't really expect to like the characters so much so I'm really enjoying this game.

"I don't like Mr. Crawling at all" I say, then I suddenly tripped and fell to the ground, as multiple pictures of Mr. Crawling fall out of my bag. "Wait!" I madly cried out. "These aren't mine!"

"Who is the target demographic of a horror-themed linguistic-based dating sim?" Me, move over. I thrive in this enviroment, and the ability to easily retry without consequence fuels me further. (I am building up immunity to jumpscares. Soon nothing will stop me.) All jokes aside, this game really drives home the the following: - Don't judge people by their first appearance. - Communication takes work from both sides. - Don't give yourself away senslessly. - Violence doesn't solve all of your problems, but it is going to solve *some* of them. - There is a tool for every task and a task for every tool. - Set your own boundaries. You shouldn't go along with someone's propositions just because they (say they) like you. - If you find yourself alienated and unaccepted by most of society, you might as well have fun and get weird with it. Find like-minded people. Start a found family. Outsiders are already judgemental, so what are they going to do, avoid you even more? - Recovery takes time and you are going to end up different than you were before. That is nothing to be afraid of. You do not have to cherish it either. Just account for it. - If you wait long enough, things will change. Not encessarily in your favour, not necessarily to your detriment. They will just change. - Strength is in the community. - Evnetually you are going to become the person that could have save you that one time no one did. - Don't give personal information to people you don't know.

This is genuinely one of the best Visual Novels I have ever played. It’s so good that when I finished it I was saddened by the fact that there are no other games like it out there. Also here are some hints and tips if you feel frustrated by the language deciphering mechanics. Firstly, your goal on a first playthrough shouldn't be to find a perfect translation for what they are saying, instead your goal should be trying to vaguely understand them. Secondly, there is a chapter mechanic in the game menu which allows you to go back to basically any choice in the game. You can use this to easily skip around the game and revisit conversations when you have more knowledge. Third, don’t be scared to guess what a word means, it is very hard to tell when a word in their language is being repeated unless you are paying very close attention, so, even if the word you guessed is completely wrong it can still help you to see what contexts it’s being used in. Fourth, some words mean different things depending on the context. Don’t be afraid to mark a word with multiple meanings. Even if the word only has one meaning, marking down your interpretations can help you to better pinpoint the correct word. Fifth, due to the character limit it can be hard to fully describe how confident you are in a word choice. A neat trick I found which can help you express this is using question marks to show how confident you are. No question marks means that you are fully certain, one question mark means you are mostly certain, two means you have a vague clue what the word means, and three question marks means that you are completely guessing. Finally, if you feel like you are missing a bunch of words don’t be afraid to keep playing the game. There are multiple different endings and routes hours into the game which teach you new words. On top of that, hearing words used in different contexts throughout the game may help you to realize the true meaning of a word.
