Somewhere between minesweeper and picross. The soothing background music makes it easy to focus and pick your way through levels. Definitely more challenging than the previous game, but in a good way.

I feel like this game has a fundamental flaw in that you have to force yourself to figure it out. You can just guess some things, then restart the level after you've memorized enough of it to get a perfect score the next time. So if your logic is faulty and you happened to click correctly, you're not punished. I'm not sure how you'd solve that with the format for this game, but I haven't played infinite yet, so maybe it's solved there. For what it is, and how cheap it is though, it's a lot of fun.

More difficult than the first game. Some of the puzzles took me a while. Less relaxing and more challenging - but still fun.

Hexcells Plus is logic puzzle game. This game is a really complex puzzle game similar to Minesweeper, albeit with a lot more elements to it. The graphics are simplistic but well made, the relaxing music is nice but it could use more than one track and the sound effects are extremely satisfying. I don't enjoy the levels that requires cross-thinking (such as using two parallel or perpendicular lines to figure out the solution), but thankfully, this is only a fraction of the levels. The game features a respectable 36 levels, which may seem short, but some of the levels take upwards of 30 minutes to solve! So far every games of this series has been a blast, that is if you enjoy melting your brain down long enough to finish them all. Puzzle and logic games fanatics will rejoice. There isn't much more to mention about the game, there is no guessing required, you can solve the puzzle without making a single mistakes with logical thinking, but most of the time the solution is not obvious. Everything is well explained and if you misunderstood something, you will quickly learn it the hard way and adapt. Overall, cheap, long and difficult puzzle game. Only for fans of problem-solving games!

Hexcells Plus elevates the ingenious puzzle design of the original Hexcells to new heights, seamlessly continuing the journey with finesse and added complexity. As you dive into this sequel, you'll find that it takes a moment to adjust to the new rules and deeper strategic layers introduced. However, once acclimated, the transition is smooth, and the game's intricacies begin to unfold beautifully. This game brilliantly builds upon the solid foundation laid by its predecessor, introducing new elements that require you to rethink your approach without feeling overwhelmed. The initial learning curve is rewarding, as it gently nudges you out of your comfort zone, enhancing the puzzle-solving experience. Once you get the hang of the enhanced mechanics, Hexcells Plus becomes a thoroughly relaxing and absorbing endeavor. The satisfaction derived from solving each meticulously crafted puzzle is profound. The game's pace and atmosphere invite you to take your time, making it a serene escape that sharpens your mind as you play.
