I played all games in this series but somehow I like this one most story seemed best and I liked contextual menu with traders well balanced quests and pacing of game.

Alright. Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 2 is done and dusted. It's a self-contained story that doesn't require knowledge of what happened in previous entries, which is cool. And you know, it was aight. Completely casual experience that was decent overall. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3392921785 You play as a princess who, after sneaking out of your royal stomping grounds with a buddy, end up being stuck outside the castle and need to find a way back in. When you do finally get back, you find that everything has gone awry, with monsters prowling the grounds and no sign of your parents. The story isn't anything groundbreaking of course, but it serves its purpose and is, well, aight lol. The graphics and audio will be familiar if you've played any HotK games. However, this has more of a focus on a medieval castle environment and surrounding area with some dungeons included. By virtue of the story, you aren't really travelling far to accomplish your goals. Completely serviceable is how I would describe it. The game does see some gameplay changes, at least as compared to 1-3. I somehow skipped over Lost Chapters 1, so no idea if they had been implemented there as well. There is almost no focus on the hidden object elements of the game outside of finding eggs, crates/barrels, and a couple other things. For the most part, this game focuses on tasks instead. Which might be fishing or farming, might be combat, etc... Everything is accomplished by having the correct items in your inventory. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3392921698 And while I appreciated this approach, it does not come without a couple issues. The main one being the necessity of constantly backtracking to acquire necessary items. To the point where towards the endgame, I was like "Come on man, enough of this" as I sighed at having to travel back to the same alchemist for probably the thirtieth time to have her craft yet another batch of some required potions. That was annoying. Additionally, I never did see a quest log or an actual inventory screen. That said, I'm not saying I specifically looked for one, and in fact, it didn't really cross my mind that there might be one, lol. But I don't recall the game ever making mention of them, and some of the quests require specific amounts of several items. Like 15 of this, 5 of that, 4 of another. So, making those features either available or more visible if they do exist would be nice. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3392921656 Yeah, I don't know that there is really anything else that needs to be said about the game. It's fun enough for what it is and took me roughly four hours to complete, which was fine. There is zero chance I would spend seven bucks on this, but for the current Winter Sale price of $1.39, there is good value to be had with this game. This is the shortest game in whole hero of the kingdom series. It feels like this is the first demo game of this series. It is too short , i have completed game within 4 hours with %100 achievements with really really slow pace. Do i suggest this game ? Yes it is 100x better than the 3rd game of this series. But try to buy it when it is in discount otherwise just watch it on some streaming services.

Another instalment of my favourite "junk/comfort food" game series :) The gameplay is the same as the previous 4 games, keeping on with the shorter length and non-respawning resources of the 1st Lost Tales, and a female protagonist this time :)
