Pretty good game, they should make a second one. Make it 3rd person instead of top down. They could call it something like Helldivers: Back 2 Hell, or maybe just Helldivers 2. I bet it'd have huge potential.

This game is better than HELLDIVERS 2. YOU MUST BUY THIS GAME NOW! Get it on sale or even get it full price because it is 100% worth the purchase. I got this game after playing many hours of HELLDIVERS 2 because I wanted to see what the first game was like and I was blown away. Here we have: ● A funny story on global warfare with lots of in-game storytelling and a terminal with a encyclopedia full of lore. ● A very diverse arsenal - We have lots of great weapons in this game that can be upgraded. The stratagem weapons are all very good, none of them are useless. ● Amazing stratagems - Your stratagems can be upgraded too and all of them are good. ● 3 Fun and engaging enemy factions and boss fights. ● A community-driven galactic war, every mission counts and you can win or lose wars. ● Unique armors and capes for in-game events. The cooperative aspects of the game makes it very hardcore, you cannot go by yourself and stray away from your team because the screen is shared between everyone, you will dive together or you will die together. This game is not easy, it is brutal and can be overwhelming at first but it gets so much easier if you play with other Divers. The balance in this game is very good as no weapon or stratagem is useless, their usefulness depends on which faction you're fighting. The only negative thing I can say about this game is how small the playerbase is, but you can still find many dedicated players diving 24/7. This game has everything I want in HELLDIVERS 2. HELLDIVERS is amazing, genuinely one of the best co-op video games I've ever played. Quit reading this and buy the game already!

If you are review bombing this game because of the sequel PSN situation, back the fuck off. While this game is not perfect and has its fair share of problems, it is still an immensely fun coop experience. Personally, this is one of the best games I've ever played with my friends, and it has a special place in my heart because of this. It doesn't deserve to be review bombed along with its sequel. We were all diving way before the majority of the internet knew what a Managed Democracy is, so have some damn respect please.

I was curious after watching a lot of Helldivers 2 gameplay so I wanted to check and try the original myself, and I'm surprised at how good it is! Truly a hidden gem in the realm of it's genre.

Even with Helldivers 2 out, this game still has a reason to play it. If you have a lower end machine, don't have $40 to spend, or simply prefer the top-down camera angle instead of third person, feel free to check out this game.
