Pretty fun game for almost no cost. The story is cheesy but I didn't expect fear and hunger levels of story, I enjoyed it nevertheless. What drew me was the gameplay, which is where most people split on this. Fights are a puzzle to be solved, not a stat stick to out stat stick. It requires some trial and error, but the complexity and depth of strategies available actually surprised me a lot. You are given the tools to win every fight, it's just up to you to put the right pieces together for the right fights. The AI chooses the best move given their situation every time, so you have to set up situations where none of their options are good. I only had to grind at the end when I figured out I needed to level up a specific item to beat the final boss. There are definitely technical problems with the game, but the people bashing the game for being grindy or too difficult are just self-reporting their own skill issue.

Pretty odd game. You need to enable proton or it will eventually break on steam deck towards the end, but I was able to finish it with no issues. For the 99 cents I paid, it's a good deal. A lot of other indie games I find boring or too similar to others. This one actually has an interesting story, world, and the combat system is actually very fun. It's really a strange game though and it kinda drops you in with no explanation, and then explains the story over time as you go further. Compared to other indie games out there, this is actually a good one.

Honestly, a pretty glad surprise for something I bought on a whim, there's a genuinely huge amount of care put into the game, and it shows. Since it is a VIPRPG (a "sh*tpost/high effort joke" made entirely out of stock assets), it doesn't surprise me that the dev managed to make the most out of the default models. There was definitely a lot of thought put into how to use them and making them into their own chars themselves, being a stand out for a little short experience. And I could spend hours talking about it, but the highlight is its custom battle system, making every fight into a puzzle instead of your usual turn-based fights. I can only think of a single game that did a system like this, and I hope more devs aim for this type of system. Genuinely motivated me into trying more VIPRPGs in the future, so give it a check, it's only 2€ full price and gets even lower on sales

A wonderful, short RPGmaker game which you should definitely give a chance to impress you. It may seem like a generic low effort pixel game but it really hides an interesting story with quite a few comedic relief moments thrown in. There isn't even a tutorial on how to play but it doesn't need any since the controls are the usual RPGmaker ones and the combat starts off simple but you will learn on your own as you find more moves and face tougher enemies that it isn't just about spamming your strongest move but managing your movement in order to hit an enemy in the right time without getting hit yourself. The combat feels just right. There aren't hordes of enemies to bore you nor do you need any real grinding at any point unless you feel like it. The characters are all memorable and the story kept me interested the whole time. You start off as a normal girl in a hut exploring ruins in some forest but you'll quickly learn you're in for something far greater than just butchering low rank monsters and pillaging graves. The ending is a little different than your everyday hero story but I enjoyed the outcome a lot more. I wish there was more but somehow it feels that there is just enough content with the rest left for imagination. Definitely creeped up to be one of my favourite games ever.

Not too much to say about the story, other than it's cute and charming, and I ended the game having made a bunch of friends. It packs a lot into just a few hours and the ending feels suitably climactic. I won't say more to avoid spoiling it, which may be misguided- who's going to be turned on to this game by me specifically who'd been on the fence about it before?- but you never know The star of the show is the combat system though, and I appreciated how fresh they were able to keep it despite how simple it is. That's the advantage of being a short game. The 4 henchmen of the Demon King were probably the highlight of the whole thing, with their unique realms with gimmicks and puzzles to get to the boss. I didn't find near all of the secrets, but there were some very cool items. Some of them felt a bit situational, which is a big drawback in a game which has so few actual situations, while some of them felt 100% necessary. I can't imagine fighting the end boss for one without a heal spell. Some enemy types were just annoying as well. I hated the monkeys, they zip around the levels and the space to avoid them is really limited. You're bound to take a few HP damage off them no matter how fast you dish out DPS, because they have a quick piercing damage attack. They're all but an HP tax on traversal, they may as well replace the monkey enemies with a little poison floor. These are really minor gripes though, it's well worth the small amount of money and time it'd cost to see it through to the end. Hearty recommend.
