I wish I could give a meh reaction, so I'll just give a thumbs up. I've never gotten super far, but from my understanding the game is quite bare boned in creature types, and the maze is a bit claustrophobic at times. I kind of like how you can save up coins for future runs, but then your current run will suffer for it, so that's not as nice. Makes me just want an infinite coin mod. Negatives aside, I would still recommend trying this game if you see it for 5 bucks or less because the reusable bullet mechanic is neat and cool.

Heavy Bullets is an absolute blast! This roguelike shooter combines fast-paced action with a unique twist that keeps you on your toes. The gameplay is both challenging and addictive, requiring quick reflexes and strategic thinking as you navigate the procedurally generated levels. The retro-inspired graphics and catchy soundtrack create an engaging atmosphere that draws you in right from the start. I love the mechanic of reloading bullets after firing—it's a clever touch that adds an extra layer of tension and strategy to every encounter. You really have to think about your shots and plan your moves carefully. Each run feels fresh, with a variety of enemies and power-ups that keep things interesting. The thrill of trying to beat your high score while dodging and shooting is incredibly satisfying. Plus, the simple yet effective design makes it easy to pick up and play for both short sessions and longer gaming marathons. Overall, Heavy Bullets is a fantastic experience for anyone looking for a challenging and fun shooter. It's a gem that keeps you coming back for more. Highly recommend giving it a try!

A very tough but rewarding game. Every play through is different, down where and when the powerups appear. Sometimes you'll be blessed with good RNG and build up a solid chunk of health and ammo, other times you'll be cursed with next to nothing in the hardest parts of the game. After a few rounds you'll find yourself creeping around corners, making sure your shot is absolutely lined up before pulling the trigger, then during the boss fights you'll be frantically running around trying to aim while being attacked on all sides. It truly is an anxiety riddled battle!

Early indie roguelite that attempts to translate the brutal physicality and procedure of games like Spelunky and Nuclear Throne to a pure FPS format, with a striking visual and aural identity. Has its limitations for sure, but considering the projects its designers would later be involved in, this is an interesting piece of game design.

This is a fun game to play. It doesn't have to get more complicated than that. In a nutshell, its a procedurally generated labyrinth full of monsters. You've got a gun, and a handful of bullets. Anytime you shoot one, you have to pick it back up, and reload it. It's such a simple mechanic and you wouldn't think that would make the game fun, but it does. Personally, I have not beaten the game. I've gotten close, and I think I could manage it with luck and time. This is a great couch game between friends. Give it a run, pass it to a friend. Or play it solo and build a few runs your way. Downside, the game is short. The development is over. There is no news of a sequel or updates. I come back to this game from time to time and am reluctant to finally beat it for this reason.
