A really good, short, depressing point and click puzzle game about an elderly man losing his memory and missing his deceased wife. Nice visuals and trippy, ambient soundscapes.

Makkonen's fourth - out of five, currently - games. This one drops most of the psychological horror aspects of the previous three, providing more realistic character art while retaining a pretty similar engine. Basically, you have a series of seven rooms, most with around 4-6 puzzles to complete before moving on to the next, revealing a little bit of inferred story. Note that the game's only an hour or so long unless you're an achievement hunter, so you might want to wait for a frequent sale. There's also a few short puzzles that require some precise clicking. The Good +Art and sound well done +Some puzzles I've not seen elsewhere +Chapter select upon completion so you can pick up or practice for missed achievements YMMV ~Full price is steep for a roughly 1-hour game. Frequently on heavy sale, though. ~Cane doesn't switch hands properly when your character turns around ~You have to click and hold on many items to activate them ~No way to cancel movements on the main screen or selections in puzzles ~I had to brute force a puzzle in chapter 3, having no idea of logic ~Some content seems almost copied and pasted from Distraint games ~Two achievements require some speedrunning ~Ending can be a bit of a kick in the feels for some people ~Game only saves after each chapter, limiting the ability to play it for just a few minutes here and there The Bad -Unskippable splash screens -The position required to activate doors is finicky like Distraint games -A few puzzles require precise clicking and/or trial and error, where any inaccuracy resets it. They aren't enormous wastes of time - just really annoying. Played on: Win11, i7-14700K, RTX4060 Ti 8GB, 32GB DDR5-6000 @ 1920x1080 using KB&M

I was really excited to play this as I really liked Jesse's previous games and I got to say my first playthrough was quite enjoyable. The theme is also similar to previous Jesse's games, although it feels more passive this time around. Also, as to be expected from Jesse, the style was quite charming and most puzzles were fun to solve. My enjoyment of the game stopped however when I started going for the achievements I missed in my first playthrough. Some were ok to do and sort of what I expected... with the exception of 2. They were not only timed achievements which no one likes, but worse than that, they were too tight and one of them even relied on clunky mechanics. After countless tries I did manage to get the first of those, although I had prior sucessful attempts that didn't trigger it. The one left though has been a nightmare and it killed my early positive feelings towards the game. To sum it up, you're required to beat the entire game in less than 22 minutes. In preparation I studied the levels, took notes, memorized the puzzles and started getting some runs done. My first one was already only a couple minutes above the maximum time, so I thought to myself it wouldn't be that hard and did a few more runs until I got a flow for the entire game. Well, I can now say that I do have that flow and yet after a number of runs that I lost the count of, I still haven't managed to trigger the achievement. I have even managed to get to the last interaction within the time limit, but unfairly, a cutscene plays after which still gets counted into the total time. My advice to Jesse, either extend the time limit or make it possible to skip cutscenes as they waste a lot of time per run. Despite my mostly negative review, I still recommend the game as it is still good at its core and a lot of players don't care about achievements so this frustration I'm feeling probably won't be something they'll experience. Pros: -Charming style -Nice sound design -Fun puzzles -Beatable in one sitting Cons: -Ocasional clunkyness intereacting with some puzzles -Timed achievements!

Not exactly my cup of tea, but very interesting game. The subject can be hard for some who have to deal with alzheimer.

I got this game with the bundle of Jesse Makkonen games, I'm guessing it was one of the earlier games as it's more simple than the others I've played, I'd get it on sale. Short story but still quite fun as the puzzles are relatively simple and satisfying. Very relaxing and calming game, not really spooky. Beautiful graphics. If you're the type who likes to get 100% achievements the last one is a doozy. I skipped it myself. Overall I very much enjoyed the game.
