Trash game. Good trash but trash nonetheless. 5/10. -Bugs/Performance: This culminates all the problems with this game. There are just so many janky movements, AI getting stuck in debris, Doors being locked which requires reload save, Missiles disappearing. It is just a mess of design. I did not find many bugs but when I did, they were absolutely infuriating. Most fixes to my problems was reload save which made me be an expert at pressing F5. You then have very awkward movement that crashing into everything and every little ledge causes the character to act like it just stumbled. The telemetry of attacks and charges is also ridiculously inaccurate and will hit you even if you are far away. The only way to prevent damage seems to be with dash. Overall, the game performs great and runs without a hitch but required a bit of tinkering at the start because it just would not run. Having to go out of my way to research how to play the game is abysmal. -Gameplay: Boring repetitive first person shooter but has all the elements you want in a game. Objects around you are mostly destructible and it is fantastic watching them explode, taking out your enemies with it. Having hazards everywhere is very enjoyable. It has also a pretty good weapons system with upgrades, collectibles which absolutely sucked, variation of enemies but are mostly reskins of weaker versions, a "Dash"?.... literally the only thing that will keep you alive, explosions. Other than that, the game is deficient. Most enemies are bullet sponges especially on the higher difficulties. The only way to fix that is upgrading RPG and Railgun to facilitate a speedier run. Most enemies have a charge in one direction, sometimes follows you a bit, and all you do is dash right. Actually, all you do is spam dash. Spam dash to avoid any kind of damage. Embodiment of Flash Gordon. Got surrounded? There is no way out because your jump is abhorrent, no way to jump over enemies. If this sounds fun to you, this is your game. It was very tedious for me. -Story: Do not know, could not care. -Graphics: Looks like a game from 2010. Not great or bad. It looks fine, nothing outstanding. I would say that the shooting and the explosions really look neat and adds to the immersion but, once you see the enemies close up it all falls apart. -Level design: I would say it is a good attempt but mostly lacks logic and looks lacklustre most of the time. This game needed several grandiose sequences to really give the appeal of a horrific world where killer robots are in every corner. None of that exists here except for some jump scares here and there, some big spaces which required more work to be awe inducing. Nothing impactful can be found in this game.

The immersion failed me, the story felt disconnected from the game as if it's from different game. But the gameplay is alright I kinda able to follow along & not let it bother me, since it's linear anyway. Get it on sale & you'll get nothing to complain.

Before You Buy - EARLY REVIEW This game is rough sometimes, and I don't mean the difficulty. The level design can be extremely confusing and the lack of explanation regarding your next objective in such a detail-dense game can get overwhelming. When I say detail-dense it's more object-dense, a lot will go on around you and explosions and other dangerous hazards are so easy to trigger and the chain reaction will either catch up with you or your enemy leading to enviable death. The actual game-play and story, though, are not bad and the use of comic book strips to tell the story during cut scenes was a nice touch. Cons - - Projectile Issues (sometimes the damage doesn't read properly causing enemy characters to become static) - The Level Design (OH GOD THE LEVEL DESIGN HAS BEEN DRIVING ME CRAZY) Pros - - A great mindless shooter - decent story - fun action-packed game-play I am writing this as I complete the game so feel free to keep an eye as I update this review.

very fun, looks gorgeous for an older game, surprising combat depth and variety once you unlock the full kit. highly recommend for linear old school single player FPS fans

Overall, a pretty good package. To start, the game is a shooter with two weapon slots, an energy weapon and a ballistic weapon, these slots can be outfitted with different weapons (for a total of 12 options*) and changed on the fly which makes it easy to experiment and try to combo/alternate during fights. Albeit with a couple second delay in between switching no ability to select a weapon, instead having to roll through all of them until you get your choice, which is not that bad if you keep a small selection but that kinda defeats the above-mentioned benefit of the system. Graphics are solid even to this day which is a big plus. It has some good-looking moments. The environment and level design also shine, especially in-doors. I settled on a rather basic RPG/Shotgun & Energy Mortar set for my run and didn't have much issue with the difficulty on Hard. It's an aproachable title, though you do have to think your way around the arenas presented because the enemies do hit hard if you let them. The enemy variety is pretty much exhausted by the time you get to the half-point and it does feel like I fight the exact same bots I did last fight, every fight. There's no real variation in models for individual enemy types for most enemies which gets pretty stale. The game's gunplay is pretty good, though most of the larger enemies aren't responsive to your hits (in the sense that they don't seem to "hurt" until they are knocked down/dead), this can be fixed with an optional upgrade you can get. The introduction of a sword a couple levels in can provide a fun way to spice up the experience but being in melee range with most enemies is rather punishing if you don't time your dodges right. Mobility is good overall in the game, you can run, jump and dash. Surprisingly, no crouching which gets a bit annoying in some environmental situations. Sound design is pretty good though again, it does get rather repetitive by the time you finish the first half. The biggest complaint however would be the fact that this is simply one of the easiest games I played to optimize the fun away. Experiment, move around during fights, switch weapons, put some music and fight with the sword and you can have a real blast. The fact it comes for a very good price on sales is the cherry on top and makes it diving into its cyberpunk setting worth it. 7.5/10
