Got it free with Half Life 2, and well, I am not much of a multiplayer guy as I never properly found myself interested in any multiplayer game for more than 2 hours, except for TF2. Still, the 90 minutes I spent with this game were amazing, and i liked how chaotic and fun the multiplayer felt. Like, no obsession over competitiveness or ranking, just people having pure fun and chaos. I even got to see some really good fan made maps, and these are really beautiful. It was a short, but nice time here, and anyone unlike me who are able to find themselves more interested in multiplayer games at a longer duration, I will definitely reccomend this to them, as it was really a fun and often chaotic time.

Half-Life Deathmatch: Source still has all the bugs and other things that make it dont look like or better to the original from Half-Life: Source. But i guess it can be fun with friends if you have nothing to do lol. The gameplay is terrible (not completely, it feels worse than the singleplayer), pickups are duplicated for some reason (if you're lucky all entities will be duplicated not just pickups but doors, vehicles, breakable objects, npcs and such) and you cannot choose the color of your spray and playermodel. It has some improvements being on the Source Engine like easy to mod, better quality maps and voice chat. Shoud you still play this? Nah, just play the original Half-Life deathmatch even now with the 25th Anniversary Update. Its so much better. But like i said if you have nothing to do, try it out play on some servers or play it with friends on your own server or on lan.

Highly recommended if you will play it with your friends. If you don't have friends to play with, not recommended at all. As, the public servers is full of cheaters.

Some of goofiest deathmatch you'll ever play, just run around with a crowbar it's a blast. It's a beyond dead game and the worst iteration of Half Life, but if you join an empty server a few people will join and it's a good time.

"Half-Life Deathmatch: Source," the multiplayer iteration of Valve's classic first-person shooter, delivers a fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping experience that has stood the test of time. As a professional gamer, I've delved into numerous multiplayer arenas, but few match the intensity and nostalgia of "Half-Life Deathmatch: Source." Recently, I found myself in an epic and unforgettable battle with a player named Jim Profit, whose skills seemed almost godlike. This game, a direct port of the original "Half-Life" deathmatch experience, brings the same frantic action and strategic depth to the Source engine, with improved graphics and physics. The gameplay is characterized by its quick pace, diverse weaponry, and intricate map design, which all contribute to a highly competitive environment. Each match is a chaotic dance of rockets, grenades, and bullets, requiring players to master both movement and weapon accuracy to dominate the battlefield. During one particularly memorable session, I encountered Jim Profit, whose prowess in the game was immediately evident. Our skirmish unfolded across classic maps like Crossfire and Bounce, with each of us utilizing the environment and weapon pickups to outmaneuver and outgun the other. Jim Profit's reflexes and strategic acumen were impressive, turning every encounter into a thrilling duel. Despite my professional gaming experience, matching wits and skills with Jim Profit pushed me to the limits, creating one of the most exhilarating and challenging gaming experiences I've ever had. The Source engine's enhancements to "Half-Life Deathmatch" bring a level of polish that modernizes the classic gameplay without losing its original charm. The physics-based interactions, such as using explosive barrels and other environmental hazards, add a layer of strategy and unpredictability to each match. This, combined with the game's arsenal of iconic weapons—from the trusty crowbar to the devastating RPG—ensures that no two battles are ever the same. Community involvement is another key aspect of "Half-Life Deathmatch: Source." The game’s long-standing player base continues to create and share custom maps and mods, keeping the experience fresh and engaging. This active community ensures that new players can always find a match and veterans like Jim Profit continue to hone their skills. In conclusion, "Half-Life Deathmatch: Source" remains a vital part of the multiplayer shooter landscape, offering a blend of nostalgia and intense competition. My incredible duel with Jim Profit underscored the game's enduring appeal and the high level of skill it demands. For anyone looking to relive the glory days of "Half-Life" multiplayer or experience its refined chaos for the first time, "Half-Life Deathmatch: Source" is a must-play. The game's combination of fast-paced action, strategic depth, and vibrant community makes it a timeless classic in the world of competitive gaming. OVERALL i like it good game
