A TPS with slight platformer elements which i don't mind but some things are bugging me about it so might Refund since I'm under 2 hrs playtime(Steam won't issue refunds on games with "Significant" playtime and apparently they consider 2 hrs significant enough LOL) So here's what bugged me in under 2 hrs, Poorly Implemented enemy AI: okay so I noticed right away literally Stage 1 part 1 that enemy AI is very stupid. They will spawn in some "Areas" but the areas are only ever indicated by the little swirly red circles on the ground that also mark where you go to complete objectives so on your first playthrough of any stage you won't know where enemies are gonna be popping up. Enemies spawn in rooms behind closed doors sometimes but they literally can't leave because doors only open automatically when the player gets close enough to them(I mean REAL close). At the same time enemies are trying to path towards you so when the door opens you better just melee, YOU WILL see the enemies clipping through the door before it opens so try to count the elbows/lower legs to determine how much melee spam you'll need, I tried just unloading on them with my SMG and the bullets bounced back as if the door were still closed, also, the enemies couldn't leave even after I opened it they just got stuck. Playing on normal mode, none of the basic infantry enemies ever seemed to deal damage to me even when I stood still it was like they fired all around me but the self-destructing Spider robots and automatic flamethrower turrets were RIGHT on target. Boss enemies were mostly the same but have more HP with only a single exception(Details below) Traps: I've run into 2 types of map element which can't be destroyed but deal damage, Therefore I just refer to them as "Traps" the first is a rotating array of 4 laser beams, placed on narrow pathways meant to wither down your HP. The second is the aforementioned flamethrower turrets. The laser beams spin pretty fast and leave very little room in which you can maneuver without getting burned, At one point I had to contend with 4 arrays on a L-shaped catwalk WHILE spider bots rushed toward me. But I didn't know what kind of enemy spawned as it doesn't tell you it just says to destroy enemies and gives you a count. I didn't see any enemies so i tried to maneuver the first array when suddenly I'm getting rocked by explosions which just knock me into the laser beams over and over and over again. As for the Turrets they're more of a minor nuisance due to how much they can obstruct your view. It's like no matter what angle you face, if you're getting gently tickled by the blue flames, you may as well be blind cause that's ALL you'll see on your screen. Map Elements treated as SOLID objects that make no sense: So on Stage 1-2(Or maybe 1-3, IDK they all look the same) I entered an area that again placed me on a catwalk(Whoever built this enemy "Base" sure loves catwalks and railings...) but it's an L-shaped path and as I rounded a corner then touched the next red swirl I saw a few enemies spawn so I backed up and tried firing over the railing which should have been no problem but for some weird reason none of the bullets made it outside the space above the railing that I assumed was empty(Since I can see enemies on the other side) so IDK what that was about I just went back to the corner and picked em off standing in plain sight... Unmentioned character passive abilities: On Stage 1-4 I played through it with the first character(Merlin) but apparently she DOESN'T regen the HP she loses unlike 2nd character(Fina). During a certain part of the stage I was required to stand in the center of a circle in order to "charge" something or other(I'm not even sure WHAT) but not without also getting attacked endlessly by infantry bots as well as self-destructing spider bots. I basically ignored the infantry cause they spawn far away and never hit anything anyway but those damn spiders spawn about 10 feet away and rush you from all open sides(about 180 degree angle) so i got kamikaze'd damn near to death leaving Merlin with about 15% of her HP bar. I escaped BARELY but upon exiting that particular sequence I noticed my HP wasn't regenerating(Up until this point, I literally didn't get hurt at all so I had full HP when entering this sequence) I remember seeing my HP regenerate before now but I must have been playing as Fina during those times cause when I switched to her to keep one of my party members alive and not fail the stage objectives she regenerated HP every time I ever lost any. Final Stage bosses: Every stage with multiple "parts" will have a boss for each individual part. In the case of stage 1, part 4 the boss is another Gunsoul girl that came from your command center to check on your team due to some radio interference but got her AI contaminated along the way which prompts her to attack rather than assist you. It's a straightforward fight like all the rest were up to now, you gently tick away at the bvoses HP OR unleash a skill or two and basically annihilate them in 2 seconds. But right as I got her health down to a certain point she used some cheap ass skill that creates a few blue flames that circle around her and act like a barrier. They deal more massive damage than she EVER could with her gun so Fina went down like a ton of bricks(literally lost about 90% HP after touching 1 flame, then dying on the second) which forced me to use Merlin with her glorious 15% HP that never regenerated from the BS horde mode earlier. Luckily Merlin SMACKS with her "Basic Grenade" skill so i literally tossed a grenade and beat her only milliseconds before a flame touched me. She went down in slo-mo and dropped some shinies so I was exceited to collect the spoils even if I did lose a Fina but something felt off. The frame froze for a few seconds and BOOM it crashes... Bringing me to the final reason I'm considering refunding, CRASHES: Literally will crash for no known reason even without any enemies spawned on the map. I crashed on the very first part of stage 1 before any enemies even spawned. I come back and I make it through 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and almost entirely through 1-4 when I get a crash right after I beat the BS Boss that can't hurt you till they're practically dead then suddenly floors you without even pulling a trigger cause of some cheesy fight mechanic. As for the Patch DLC(Adds contextless AO scenes in the form of "Memories" you unlock when clearing stages): Tried it, wasn't impressed. You start in a first person mode and free-roam around a room where it's just your Unidentified character and a handful of the girls you can play as in the core game. In the first memory stage I saw 3 girls in the room but couldn't even interact with 1 of them. Getting within interactive distance flashes a message about not having permission for the Role or something. I had 5 "points" to use unlocking interactive scenes so i spent 1 point on Fina to make her masturbate on the couch she was sitting on. I could control the speed which just made it sound more like she was hurting herself than anything so I quickly got the hell outta that mess and spoke to merlin. I unlocked the interaction on the bottom of her list for 2 points which was apparently a full-on sex scene(The text CUTS off while actions are still locked so you can only read the first few words/letters of what they are) This scene played out similarly to the masturbation where speed just means LOUD and it also locked the camera to 2 angles for viewing which was irritating cause the first camera is a POV cam but with an awful Field of View that made it impossible to enjoy the act cause your character model clips into the view. You can show or hide your character model but hiding it is almost just as awkward cause then it's just her bouncing up and down on nothing. Felt more embarrassing and awkward to do that than anything else I did in the game up til this point and I'm no stranger to H-scenes...
